A soldiers plea!

You dont want to send a gift certificates for the commisary because it is GREATLY overpriced. The best bang for the buck is to donate to the Chipin. Dont know anything about the phone cards.

I don't think they offer gift certificates for the PX/BX. By the way, having spent a year in Iraq, the prices at these stores are not unreasonable, and are typically the same as in the states. Either way, it's best to send them the supplies directly, as the lines are typically very long at these stores, and soldiers often don't have the time or opportunity to shop there. When I was there phone cards were in huge demand, and friends and family would send us regular phone cards from the states all the time. I'm not sure what the phone situation is now over there, but it's probably different for every unit.

ok interesting. Glad to hear on the phone card front I'd like to get confirmation from someone else there.

How can we get the names/addresses of those on active duty? I bet they have very little info about Ron Paul. I see nothing wrong with sending them just some info about Ron Paul.

Hi Paratrooper,

How are you doing? I got an email on YT from a fellow Panther of yours who is in Bayji a couple months ago. He is spreading the word about Ron Paul. I thought he said he was 1-505.

All The Way!

P.S. We are all Infantry when the vehicle we are riding in breaks down. lol

Hello Everyone,

I just spoke with SGM. Davis this past Sunday, he called from Iraq, Camp Scania. So I thought this would be a good time for an update. He has received all of your donations and he and the entire 3RD Squadron, 73RD Cavalry are very appreciative. They have been deployed for 7 months and are almost half way home.

I sent lots of candy, beef jerky and the sort that I purchased at Sam's Club, these are good comfort items, store well and can be put in cargo pockets. They have used some of the candy at the soldiers run aid station for civilians in Camp Scania. This is a medical facility operated by the soldiers and funded by private citizens like you. Our guys have really big hearts to go out of their way and do something like this on their own but hey that is just who they are.

It turns out there are a lot of burn victims so the aid station has become a burn center of sorts. Here is a youtube vid about the effort. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpR2l5-z5VU

I would like to raise some more money to help these guys and their good works for the period they have left in country. But before I post a link for that I want to see if their is any interest. So if you think this is a good cause and still makes sense for the RPF let me know your opinion.
