Moving on...

As a student at Hofstra University, I was given the opportunity to get a free ticket to a Hillary Clinton fund raising event being held on campus tonight.
Seeing as she is such a major figure in America, i didn't think it'd be smart to pass up the opportunity, so tonight at 8:00, I'll be seeing her.

Here's the question: How to dress and act?

I have access to a Ron Paul shirt. Should I wear it under my sweat shirt? If so, should I let it be seen?
I also have access to a shirt that reads "Commies Aren't Cool" with an X over Che.
I would very much like to wear one of those shirts, but I also don't want to make an ass out of myself and the man I support (Ron Paul).

One complaint I hear ALL the time about Paul-ites is that we're "loud and obnoxious" at other candidates' rallies. I don't want to further that idea, so heckling is out of the question, no exceptions.
However, if I have the chance to shake her hand, or ask a question, I'd like to have something ready. I was thinking something along the lines of "How do you plan on restoring the value of the dollar while printing more, spending more, and backing it up with nothing?" or a question about how highly she values the constitution. Not something rude, but something to make a point.
The chances of a question or a handshake are, however, rare.

So yea, I've never been to any political event before, so any advice on attire/expectation would be appreciated!

Thanks,
Jon

I say you wear the Ron Paul shirt. Who cares about Hillary and her supporters. Just don't be rude.

Don't wear an RP shirt. Just dress normal and ask her a tough question, something to the effect that, "if global warming is the threat she thinks it is, why are other planets warming as well?"

Hope that helps.

off topic: As a saint's fan, i'd like to thank Hofstra for producing Colston... a bargain!

on topic: don't wear anything that will make you stick out, but do plan to ask her how we are going to fund universal health care when we can't afford all the entitlements we have now... plus, what is she going to do when hyper-inflation occurs after she implements her socialist programs...

remember, she is a former libertarian and knows full well what socialism is.... slavery.

Her questions will be scripted and come from people who have been vetted by her people, so you're not likely to get a chance to ask her anything. Wear the Ron Paul shirt under a sweater and take off the sweater when you're in. Don't raise hell, but don't shy away from getting noticed either. Godspeed!

She worked for Goldwater, but what makes you say she was a libertarian? Plenty of people in government work for people with contrary views.

Why did she vote to extend the Patriot Act? Does she remember the Bill of Rights?

Those seem to be pretty important questions.

make your you get a seat where the cameras will shoot....

Bring a BIG folded up BANNER!

"Democratics for RON PAUL!"

lol

How about this question....

I hear all this talk about how Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid all have extremely dire funding problems that are approaching quickly. If the Federal government can't even manage to keep healthcare for the old and needy solvent, do you honestly believe the government can efficiently manage a universal healtcare system that covers every single citizen?

I personally have a feeling that because he would be perceived as a committed voter, he'd be kicked out.

Leave the Ron Paul shirt at home, but do talk to others about him while you're there. Stir up an air of doubt, but don't be an arse about it. Ask them what they think about Paul, and see if you can't use the power of persuasion to get them to investigate his campaign further. If they bring up the 'kookiness', talk to them about how Paul can seemingly benefit them and their families, and his commitment to bringing the troops home.

You need to bring in his appealing sides. Know your demographic.

No, she was a former college Republican. Never a libertarian.

Ummm, goldwater was a republican but also libertarian, ron paul is a republican, but also libertarian, I am a republican, but also libertarian, Hillary was a goldwater republican and a libertarian...until it was no longer advantageous for her career and husband. She is knowingly selling slavery to gain power. And she knows better. which makes it even worse.

Ask her if she's still a fan of Republicans like Barry Goldwater and Ron Paul. THAT would be interesting.

Don't wear anything Ron Paul. But talk about his message. Don't even mention his name maybe. But definitly talk about how you want the GOV out of your life.
Why does the GOV think they can help people in need better then we can help ourselves? Talk like that. Bring UP HR1955 and such. Constitution. Run away spending. Tell them the different between the dems and rep is that the DEM just spend faster. Why can't the people on wellfare take responsibility for their own lives like we have? Don't be rude. But Freedom requires responsibity. Many DEMS are good people who think taxes to help the poor is the only way to go. SO give them the idea that they can donate their money to the causes they like better and taxes can be redused. Tell people that Hilary said that we have to be in IRAQ for at least four more years.

You don't have to say Ron Paul to make them think.

Ask her why the biggest opponent of the insane unconstitutional war on drugs is a Republican and what she would do to return the country to obeying the Constitution and promoting liberty.

Although I do like targeting her socialists policies. tough call. so many targets.

Don't wear anything Ron Paul.
Don't even mention his name maybe.

McBain Alert Says: It's this sort of isolationism that will allow Hitlary come to power!!!!!
