A New Strategy

I heard an interesting strategy at the Lake Jackson Ron Paul rally yesterday: there's a great opportunity to do well in the Texas delegate election.

The more inevitable McCain becomes, the less voter participation in the delegate election will be. Which means more opportunity for RP slates to get passed up to the state delegate convention, which decides the deletages to the RNC if no candidate gets >50% in the March 4th primary!

Of course, this hinges on the hope that Huckabee supporters are not as well dedicated and educated on the delegate process. Also that McCain supporters will not turn up in number - and instead rely on GOP party officials to manage the delegate process.

I think we can count on Huckabee supporters not being particularly educated on the delegate process. They'll no doubt have faith. As for McCain supporters, how the hell can you have any? I mean, you have the Rio Grande and Texans love guns! How do we get to them?

I sincerely hope anyone in a district where McCain has any kind of traction will holler for help! You'll get it.

McCain in Texas

McCain loves war. Texans love war. What can ya do? Also, McCain is heir apparent to Bush when it comes to all policies, so most all Bushies will vote McCain.

Although, I did hear some anti-paul pro-war neo's mumbling about how they'd rather see Hillary as president over McCain (and that Obama was more scary). I responded that it was their ideology that got us McCain in the first place.

The best thing that may come out of this is a bunch of us Paulites getting involved in the Republican party and becoming delegates. If this happens, next cycle we will dominate at the Texas Straw Poll unlike last summer.

Coulter: I would campaign for Hillary!

Some party apparatchiks are friendly but others want to purge RP supporters.

You honestly can say, "I will vote for the best Republican" (since the best Republican is Ron Paul).

The RNC agrees with Ron Paul and anyone trying to be a delegate or precinct captain can affirm these core RNC ideals honestly:

RNC http://www.youtube.com/rnc :
"The future of our country, the direction that we go as people, whether we move ahead to meet the challenges of the future or slide back into the irresponsible policies of the past, will be determined by those who get involved." --Ronald Reagan

For more than 150 years the Republican Party has stood for lower taxes, limited government, and a strong national defense. To keep this tradition alive and well, the Republican National Committee needs you to get involved.

The RNC needs your energy, your excitement, and your idealism to push Republicans to victory in 2007, 2008, and beyond.

Safe answer about candidate preference without picking a GOP candidate: "Whatever the differences between GOP candidates, the important thing is to stop Hillary and Obama."

Some areas that might help in TX:
Reagan:
RP provides more of everything good; more defense, more security, more intelligence.
  • RP provides the best military. All the others weaken our military.
  • RP provides the best national security. All the others weaken our security.
  • RP provides the best intelligence. All the others weaken our intelligence.
  • RP provides the best foreign policy. All the others weaken our foreign policy.
Ron Paul’s strong foreign policy:
  • Keep an unbeatable military.
  • Uphold the Constitution and US sovereignty: Declare the war, fight it, win it, and come home.
  • Fight terrorists with intelligence and special units to stop overstretching our troops and to keep our conventional forces free and ready for major conventional threats.
  • Secure our borders and enforce our visa laws to stop terrorists.
  • Maintain financial security through sound money, fiscal conservatism, and non-intervention (the smart way to be globally active)—You can’t win a war when you’re bankrupt.
