It is important to note, as many have already stated, that the newly roused Ron Paul Republicans, while quickly becoming a strong group, will not have the numbers to win a general election without the support of the majority of Republican voters.
RP has an "outsider" image, as though he is not only running against the other GOP candidates, but against the GOP itself. THIS IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT THING THAT NEEDS TO CHANGE.
In every single bit of media relations the underlying motive should be the benefits the party would reap from the infusion of the new Ron Paul Republicans. The focus should not be on how wrong the party is, but how he wants to embrace the party to make our country better.
He needs to make it clear that the party is up for a tough battle against any democratic opponent without the support of the party and the infusion of new voters that only he can bring. Standing alone, 5-10% of the vote won't win an election. But he is the ONLY candidate that can add 5-10% to the republican vote, making a conservative victory in the general election a near certainty.
