A challenge to the grassroots: you really want to win? quit fussing & get to work!!

If you haven't gotten involved in your local campaigns, I highly suggest you do. If Ron Paul isn't enough incentive, then perhaps this might help.

Boys... There are a lot of young, pretty, and intelligent ladies at the campaign office. They'll appreciate someone equally smart who is working to help Ron Paul. Get my drift?

Girls... There are a lot of young, handsome, and intelligent gentlemen at the campaign office. They'll appreciate someone equally smart who is working to help Ron Paul. Get my drift?

Now go! I'm getting married in March, so your chances are good! No competition from me!

You want to be a delegate for Ron in the Republican National Convention? go to the link in the OP to sign up with the campaign.

Can you provide more information on what a 'county delegate' is?

This is the most HELPFUL thread I've read since joining about 6 weeks ago (This is the most IMPORTANT thread: Sticky - Delegate information for ALL 50 states! Wondering about your state? look no further!). Time has always been of the essence.

The Establishment and it's dog, the media, are 100% against Dr. Paul. This is not an easy fight...in fact it's not a fight. It's a war, and we are the weaker force (there's no shame in that fact).

I didn't realize the importance of delegates and the whole process. I guess it's always been about delegates.

I've emailed my County Republican Central Committee Chairman for information on how to become a county delegate. I got the contact info from my state's Republican party website (ex. California is http://www.cagop.org/).

We have a local group that was started in Oct. We are consistently growing our numbers. We get really good responses when we are out promoting Paul.

Get involved with a local group. Even if you think that the group is covered or has plenty of people, most likely they could use help.

Yes. And if you don't have a local group - guess what? You are it! Get yourself onto ronpaul.meetup.com and ronpaulcountry.com. Even if you do have a group that you go to in another city, create one in your own to discover the RP supporters. They will be grateful that you did.

You can also canvass in your area, put out a Craigslist ad, flyers at community centers or other gathering places, or put something in the paper. Do whatever it takes!
You might find some gold in your own backyard! (Acres of Diamonds reference)

This is crucial and whatever little bit that you do WILL make a difference!

Is there somewhere I can go to find if there is a local group around my house?

If you don't, set up a table at a local farmers market or mall area with signs, banners and literature and let the RP'ers come to you. Just one more person makes tabling that much more fun. :)

Well plenty of people tried to get grassroots organized but failed. Members cant do it. Only admins.

? Are we talking about the same thing? We are talking about face-to-face grassroots on the local level. No admins to worry about.

I think he means this forum.

And I think that means we need more moderators...and here we are..calling everybody else sheep when our own grassroots can't focus on our main goals. It is true, 95% will always be sheep no matter what.

We have a lot of meaningless chatter about speculation, predictions, etc, and it's all armchair stuff that won't help Ron Paul get actual votes.
I think it got even worse with official tags for speculation but none for activism.

GRC should be the hub for activism, not entertainment, imo. Videos should be a subforum.. and speculation and all that crap should be in another subforum... just my opinion... I get home from work, and lately I don;t even bother looking in GRC anymore because there is so much crap posted in here. I just ask some friends if anything interesting happened today and look for the news myself if I want..

Seriously.. all RP supporters need to have a "gut check" and dig their heels in, because we are what drives Ron Paul's performance, mostly. We shouldn't waste much time bitching about the media; we have to go around the media by RP's loyal base getting him actual votes. We get him votes by actually engaging people in discussion and donating. If you honestly can't do either, then promote him as best you can on the internet, but let's get to work.

Have a "gut check." Every RP supporter should read this, imo, and take action: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?353592-Gut-Check

It's pretty much along the lines of what the OP says, but I think it is a bit more motivational.. and hidden in the "vent" subforum. It could just be a personal bias, though, for i wrote it..

I'm glad so many share the sentiment with me, probably the only ones posting that agree so maybe we are in the minority.

I was sort of expecting to get flamed a little even though I KNEW I was right about this.

At the end of the day, we're here to WIN not to chatter and bicker.

Its just so freaking annoying to see so many that care and have donated and especially Ron getting up at the crack of dawn and making speeches he probably doesn't want to be making. Let's face it, he is old and would rather be with his family. BUT he is doing this for us, we put him up to it in 07, put him up to it in 11' and we're not following through with our part.

HOW ARE WE GOING TO WIN IF WE CAN'T EVEN ORGANIZE?

Its very frustrating and I hope this forum will go through a reality check SOON (Ben Swann, where you at?)

Yeah.. I actually got into it tonight with some friends of mine, because I basically told them they have to step it up and/or do different things to help win. Some people were sensitive to it or just cynical and negative, so I questioned their desire to have RP win...

We have so little time left, and we need votes. It's that simple. The media's bias is there. Don't complain about it. Go around the media. The campaign's success has always been dependent on the performance of RP's loyal base. As you said, we pushed him to run, so help get him some darn votes. 95% of the readers of this forum are all smart enough to know how to do that, they just don't put up enough or do enough things that actually get votes (myself included until I had this epiphany today and am kicking it into high gear). If we lose, we only have ourselves to blame, because WE CAN WIN THIS IF ALL SUPPORTERS DO WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE AND STOP SITTING AROUND WAITING FOR SOME CRITICAL MASS TO FORM.

As I said in my "gut check" thread, you be the one who takes action and do it now. Stop waiting. Gosh darnit, people. Victory is within our grasp if we just all work hard at fundraising and getting RP votes these next few months... starting right now.

I'm tired of all of the B.S. threads like 'no one but Paul' or 'when are we going to get so and so endorsement'. STOP flooding the forums with useless discussions (i.e. complaining about Ron's debate performance, if you have an actual critique and care to send that message to the proper advisors, send it directly to the campaign... And it is extremely sad that I could only find two grassroots strategy (to win) threads on the first page of grassroots central. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. If you aren't working locally to win, you SHOULD be. Our grassroots is stretched so thin, everybody thinks everybody else will do the legwork, we have all of these 'would be' supporters but the real number of supporters doing the ACTUAL work are VERY little. When TAMPA comes around and Ron loses, NONE of you should be whining about not doing enough because we should be doing ALL THAT WE CAN, RIGHT NOW. And if you're not, YOU SHOULD BE...NO EXCUSES.
You have made a very important contribution that I agree with in principle. However, it is not enough to win just by sheer effort alone. Neither is preaching the perfect message (small govt, lower taxes, etc) enough. You have to deal with the OBJECTIONS people have against Paul, otherwise you are wasting your time. As I have argued before, the voters who reject Paul on electability, foreign policy and misinformation on entitlements hold the key. They make up something like 70% of GOP primary voters so all your massive efforts and preaching will amount to a hill of beans if you do not persuade them to vote for Paul by dealing with why they are against him now.

In short, in all your direct pitches or via phone banking, the issues you need to talk about are:

1. Paul is electable based on head-to-head matchups with Obama and Obama-Romney. Emphasize that Paul is statistically tied with Obama in those polls and within the margin of error with Romney.

2. Paul is strong on national defence and will vigorously fight any war that is declared by congress and will overwhelm the enemy in the shortest possible time. He will not waste resources nation building through corruptly awarded contracts afterwards. He will bring troops home and reopen closed military bases to shore up national defence.

3. Add all the other great stuff (lower taxes, no corruption, sound money, economic growth, no cronyism, etc).

EDIT:
4. Paul will not stop entitlements in SS/Medicare/Medicaid. He will reform the system by introducing competition and/or privatization to make it solvent forever. People will have the option to opt out in future after reformation.

Make sure you get them to agree with you first before you start defending. Focus on the economy and give examples of why it's personally so bad (prices of groceries keep going up). Have them agree that Ron Paul is the only one serious about cutting federal spending by $1 trillion without cutting one penny from social security or national defense. If they have any concerns after that, address those. Don't start by defending Ron Paul's foreign policy if they don't bring it up.

For a while, any kind of speculation was moved to Hot Topics, so it seems strange that we have a whole tag for Grassroots Central cluttering up any actual activism discussion.

IF YOU ARE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE WAY THIS ELECTION IS GOING OR MIGHT BE GOING, YOU SHOULD BE TAKING THIS THREAD SERIOUSLY RIGHT NOW.

GET TO WORK.
