Lew Moore just said it isn't about advertising, it is about canvassing...this campaign is absolutely retarded and RP needs to fire them...there is absolutely no reason we sent them $20 million + if we didn't want advertising. I didn't donate for the campaign to tell me to do what I was already doing. I was expecting some help from them with decent commercials and a smart strategy...ughghhghghghghgh

These people are so barely competent.... They don't even realize I can hear everything they are saying, when they think they are not live.

Dr. Paul deserves better.

I dunno, but I stopped listening after the intermission when they said that Lew had said what Debbie was going to say. After a few minutes, I realized she was just winging it. Better to do something more useful than listen, just because someone is talking to fill airtime.

Actually you are quite wrong, they did a TON of ads in NH some of them great, some bad, and it got no where. Canvassing and the proper tools to canvas are very important for someone that is blacked out by the media. Ads get no where because people ignore them because the media tells them too.

Canvassing is really hard if the people have not even heard of Ron Paul. And it's hard when the supplies aren't arriving in time.

I think the campaign put out probably two ads(being generous here) that were decent. From what I heard, they had 1,000 volunteers on the ground in NH and I know there were people that quit their jobs to go to NH to help canvass.
As of a "media blackout"...sure you can blame the media, but that DOES NOT excuse the way the campaign operated. The campaign had scheduled an interview with Glenn Beck and then backed out of the interview and took two months to return any calls to Glenn Beck and Glenn Beck himself put out a YouTube video asking the Grassroots for help in getting Dr. Paul to go on his program(http://youtube.com/watch?v=rNEgkAshNnI). Ron Paul's campaign did the same thing with Neal Boortz, they scheduled an interview then backed out(http://www.dailypaul.com/node/22854). Both Boortz and Beck have probably 500,000-1,000,000 listeners and viewers/listeners(being conservative here). The campaign has spent more than $20+ million and I don't understand why they haven't produced one single National TV ad...Mike Huckabee has, John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, Barack Obama, etc., all have.

I don't think Huckabee or Rudy ran any national ads. I'm fairly sure McCain didn't either.

You should check out the cost of "one" professionally produced 30 second ad during national prime time. 300,000 to 500,000 is cheap. During Idol is can get close to a million. This is one 30 second ad.

20 million doesn't go far in that respect. I wish people would think and educate themselves before they spout off.

By your numbers, there still should have been a couple. Take $5m to TV ads, get 10 prime-time spots and a handful of afternoons. That still leaves more than enough to get canvassing materials provided by the campaign - and I would have been happy to purchase my own materials (slim-jims, signs) had there been enough time for shipping.

How much cash is left on hand for the Pres Campaign? I know its not much, but they should have been assuming accelerating returns at a logarithmic rate for TV ads, Canvassing grows support linearly (and therefore additional donations and votes), at best.

They (his presidential campaign team) weren't perfect, but I don't blame any low % directly on them. We're fighting uphill, and just because we lost the battle doesn't mean anybody did less than their best, so we should not always require a scapegoat.

Things go badly, sometimes you can pinpoint a reason, sometimes it is internal, sometimes external. Regardless of the cause of our problems, we must move through them. If it is a problem with HQ, there are people that will take care of it, you whining on the internet doesn't change campaign staff, nor should it. It is out of your control, and however sad that may be, continue to work to do the best in what you can control.

Huckabee and Rudy ran national ads because I'm 100% positive I saw those with my eyes, McCain either ran ads or I'm remembering his commercials from media coverage...but yes, Huckabee and Rudy both ran national ads.

Watching a commercial in our home state does not mean national. Every area has their own markets to advertise in. You can put ads in a county, in a district, in a state, in a few states or in all states.

Also, it doesn't make sense to advertise nationally - at the various stages of the primaries, when a campaign has limited funds. Remember, that 20million came in late in the game.

also, why do you take every opportunity to dismantle and complain about the campaign? I mean, barely a post of yours goes by that you are NOT complaining or disparaging the campaign. Are you hoping to dissuade future donors? Chill out. WE KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. Saying it another 10x will not make your point any more valid.

Let me put it this way, I'm in North Carolina and our primary isn't until May 6th. I saw these commercials before February 5th and before January 30th which was the day Rudy dropped out...if they weren't national media buys, they don't make any sense because nobody knew then if they were in or out of this thing, especially Rudy. I won't disparage people from donating to RP's campaign, but I can't believe RP's campaign is being run the way it has been. The grassroots got RP to where he is, not the campaign. You can excuse a poor campaign, but I won't. BTW, I'm not the only one that feels this way, there are many more than just myself that feel like this. I may complain about the campaign all day long, but that doesn't mean I won't support our cause...notice, I'm still here. I still talk to people at my church, work, school, etc., about RP any chance I get.

BTW, it may make sense to advertise nationally if you are trying to get name recognition in the entire nation...again, RP's campaign has spent more than $20 million and there hasn't been one national ad which means in states like NC, now that the funds have dried up, it is truly up to the grassroots to try and convince people RP is "electable" even though they want to know why he isn't on their television screens.
