Brunner pulls 35 percent of likely voters surveyed, versus 30 percent for Akin and 25 percent for Steelman, according to a poll released Monday by Democratic-leaning Public Policy Polling. One in 10 voters say they remain undecided.

Brunner is the liberty candidate in this race and things are looking good.

Please note that Palin is going to be stumping for Steelman ahead of tomorrow's primary. IDK if she has already been doing it or if she is doing it just today, and tomorrow or just tomorrow, but i do know she is going to be stumping for Steelman and should give her a bit of a boost as Palin is popular in MO.

Awesome. Let's keep the momentum going! Imagine how the senate will look next year with more liberty candidates!

Hope Brunner pulls it out. The Senate and House will have an interesting makeup, liberty is certainly on the up swing! This will dovetail beautiful come 2016 when Rand Paul runs for President.

Is Brunner really all that good? Or is he just better than the other candidates in the race? I was doing some research and thought I found a statement from him where he sounded pretty hawkish on Iran. I'm not trying to be one of the "purists," but I was just wondering where he stands on all the different issues.

i would love to see that statement as I'm the resident "devils advocate" when speaking about the guy. He is interesting to say the least. He is definitely better than the rest but from my experiece watching him he has pandered..... a lot.

anyway, here is his YAL profile.

I found this quote:

John G. Brunner: "The global threat of another terrorist attack and a nuclear-armed Iran remain the most clear and present dangers to America’s security interests. The greatest threat to our national security, however, is our ever-increasing national debt. The U.S. cannot allow a nuclear-armed Iran to exist and must always work to ensure Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon."

Why isn't Steelman a liberty candidate?

supports the patriot act, and other civil liberty infringements. Not only that but she said (in passing) that the fed needs to keep interest rates low to spur growth. (In '09)

Ya know what is interesting....

i just saw an ad put out my McCaskil that was saying (essentially) how uber conservative akin is and how much he cant stand Obama.... she is doing this to try and push him to victory tommorow! Ya know why, because he is the weakest opponent against her in the general election.

Agree completely.

Wanted to add this link: http://politicalnews.me/?id=16290&keys=AUDIT-PENTAGON-DEFENSE-SPENDING

Two senators who endorsed John Brunner, Senators Coburn and Johnson are helping to lead the fight to audit the Pentagon. (Air Claire is supporting the audit...more for bragging rights though: http://mccaskill.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=1684)

I haven't heard of any of Akin or Steelman's supporters supporting an audit of the Pentagon. Brunner will side with Coburn and Johnson. The two others...I don't know. VOTE JOHN BRUNNER!

Looks as though Akin is up 34 to 32 for steelman to 29 for brunner with 51% reporting. Pretty sure we're not going to pull this one out.

now 72% reporting and Akin is up by 6 points. We gave it a good run but were not going to win this one. Dokes is beating HOlyfield as well. Shitty day in MO.

I don't really think the Iran issue is a purist thing at all. It is thee issue for me. If you talk of bombing any other country that is not a viable threat to this country, you have lost my vote. These wars must be stopped.

i think we ended up losing just about every fuckin' competitive race in the state. We might have won a couple local committee people seats but most of them we lost too. it looks as though were going to lose one of them by 6 votes.

Let's see how I did...

Senate - Brunner - lost
Gov - Randles - lost
Lt Gov - Carter - lost
Atn Gen - Martin - win! (but don't care)
The rest were either unopposed or non of the above.

...good thing this wasn't a MC test

The good news, the RP guy won my townships GOP committeeman post. The takeaway, we're going to have to start at the bottom. But we have a start.

The other good news was Hamlin winning CD1. Will be interesting to see if she can take on the St Louis City democratic machine.
