6% of precincts, RP 8%, 5th place

F-ing CNN is playing the "Let's exclude Ron Paul from the pie chart" game again. Dem pie shows Richardson's small slice, GOP pie stops short at the ghoul's take.

I really want to see how they illustrate the pie if Dr. Paul goes third or higher!

The early results are from the machine counted precincts. They are easily manipulated. The other half of NH where they still have hand counted paper ballots, that's the only place that has legitimacy from my perspective. They will be last to report because of the huge turn out. If RP does very well in these areas, then you can know what his true support was from that. All the other vote results can be fixed when they need to be such as now, when there is a candidate who advocates ending the Fed Res. Every President who advocated ending private debt based currency was either killed or almost killed in assassination attempts.

The big cities are doing well for Paul...they will pull him up past Rudy. I am a little worried about Huck though...he needs to come back to earth...

They're only showing the top 4... if Paul pulls into the top 4 he will be in the chart.

587 votes from 3rd place... and with estimates of 200,000ish GOP votes? 587 is not difficult.
Huck gained a percentage point on us (now 4% ahead) but still at 587 votes ahead.

Stop getting worried. This is blatantly WAY early days.

Considering the rural areas generally come in first, I think we've got third place locked up.

If you go to the individual counties/precints they frequently show "OTHER" anywhere from 2-4%...Who in the hell is doing that well??? It is not Hunter/Thompson because they are listed...PLEASE OH PLEASE do NOT tell me that MANDATORY TOOTHBRUSH GUY is getting so many votes??

You meant to say that if the pie is cut to 3 slices, RP is 4th.

No I mean, on CNN they're showing a pie chart representation of each candidates % of the current results. They are labeling 4 of the 6 slices... which is pissing people off. Giuliani is labeled because he is about 100 votes ahead of Paul but if Paul pulls ahead, his label will show up on CNN as 1 of the 4 labeled slices.

Do they count the votes in order of their being cast? My inclination would lean that older people and people that do not work voted earlier. We all know Ron Paul's supporter average young and employed. Also, maybe Diebold machines are first to report? I am no conspiracy theorist, but those things really scare the crap out of me.

No they report the numbers as they come, so normally those rural areas or areas with fewer voters will be able to close due to no waiting line. If they can close they can validate the votes, do whatever they have to do, and report the data.
