5,000

Did I say that?

All I said is that expected 5000-10000 people based on a facebook event page is being way too optimistic.

OH, i see. Maybe its your name that made me think you were being pessimistic...

You could just as well say that you were glad to see 5,000 plus are going at this time, but your negative attitude is......a downer. Get your head up, be proud and hopeful, think positive thoughts.....

Wait, you wouldn't happen to be the Sheriff of D.C. would you?...

No, I'm just the forum's resident pessimist. :p

I do hope that thousands show up, I'm just skeptical it will happen.

You could have 25,000 show up. But what if the media blacks it out like they've been known to do? Will the rest of America know about it? Then again, maybe the whole point is to make the politicians nervous. And they WILL know about it if the turnout is substantial.

The politicians know the media will somewhat cover for them. In my opinion marches should have taken place in front of media outlets like MSNBC to make them back off and force them to do their job covering such things.

Then when the march for the benefit of the politicians comes they are already nervous seeing what went on with media and would ultimately know that the media will not have their back.

All it takes is one retard to turn this thing into a nightmare.

If you're going, PLEASE keep your eyes open for potential shit stirrers.

Yeah Facebook RSVP's don't mean anything. Over 4k RSVP'ed to the March Against Monsanto in Chicago today, not even one fourth of that showed up, at least that's my estimate based on the pictures and videos I've seen.

20-25% isn't bad. If the same number show in DC and no one else signs up, that's 1,000-1,250ppl.

Still, the media are sometimes deceptively hostile. We had a 2A rally in MD where over 4,000 showed up the photo's the paper took had the 3 kookiest ppl they could find in the center of the shot and of the protesters in the background they made it look like only 50-100ppl showed up. The article didn't mention turnout.
