4th, w/ 9%

If we come in ahead of Thompson and Rudy in MI, then we can say we beat Rudy in Iowa, Thompson in NH, and both in MI, which is not bad.

Given the Ann Arbor rally, I figured MI would be great for us, but I think I may see why they are concentrating more on NV - Romney will get a lot of the dad vote, McCon a lot of the repeat Ind vote, plus - I just thought of this - tell me if this is nuts - but MI has its primary in the 15th, NV and SC on the 19th, florida is ten days later. So even if Ron were to win MI, the media will only report it for 2 days, whereas a NV win would be reported for over a week.

Just some random thoughts.

Lemme get this straight, the "fringe, excentric" congressman, detested by the MSM, has once again risen to around 10%, as he has in every state so far, and all I hear is "terrible, terrible?"

The more he hits 10% in early states, the longer he stays part of the debate. Then finally go nationwide for a delegate rush on super tuesday when the other candidates are broke.

I don't see how people would vote for Mccain's amnesty bill history. In california he would be laughed out of the state.

Damn, Alexa, I hope you're right. I fear a few million illegals will be voting in California. I think that's how Loretta Sanchez (Orange County) got elected.

Romney Cuts McCain Lead to 1%
Huckabee Distant Third

Michigan’s January 15, 2008 Primary Will Be Third in Nation

LANSING, Mich. — Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has cut the lead of U.S. Sen. John McCain to just one point in a tracking poll done Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. McCain now leads 22% to 21% with Mike Huckabee at 12% and Rudy Giuliani and Ron Paul at 7%, Fred Thompson 3%, and Duncan Hunter 1%, among likely voters in the Michigan Republican Presidential Primary Election according to a telephone poll conducted by Mitchell Interactive. Eight percent say they will vote “uncommitted” while 18% are undecided.

Mitchell Interactive is an East Lansing, Michigan and Washington, DC based national political polling
and market research company. The survey of 520 likely Republican Presidential Primary voters was conducted by telephone Wednesday night, Thursday night and Saturday afternoon January 9, 10 and 12, 2008. The survey has a margin of error of +-4.3% at the 95% level of confidence.

“The big reason for the Romney movement is the greater interest by Republicans in their own Primary and a movement of undecided voters to Romney. The undecided vote has dropped from 23% to 18% and the percentage of voters who identify themselves as Republican has increased from 54% to 62%,” Steve Mitchell, president of Mitchell Interactive said.

“Momentum has clearly shifted to Romney between our Wednesday and Thursday night polling. If this trend continues, he will be ahead when we drop off totals from Wednesday night and add the totals from our polling tomorrow (Sunday) night,” Mitchell said.

The real question is "where will the votes go?"

I believe we could benefit from "No one" dropping out before Super Tuesday, thus furthering the split vote if our image can continue to improve (as with the SC debate). The other candidate base is sharing the 60% war favorability. That means we need there to be no question we are not coming home and things are going to be worse. Huck has to go, and Romney is a "money manager" that steals votes from the economy vote. i.e. McCain/Ghoul/Thompson is our best race. That will keep them in the 20's and low 30's and give us a chance at mid 30's.

Either way it is going to take a good media campaign in Super Tuesday states and money in the bank. If we are concerned Dr. Paul won't accept the "matching funds"... why can't we have a web site to pledge our tax share of the matching fund budget. IF we say it is appropriated, he can at least take that money with cause? right?

My take is that the people voted for that law specifically for this purpose... a marginalized candidate. TAKE THE MONEY DR. PAUL!!!

Not good enough. No excuse for it.

Those high paid, worthless jerks at HQ BLEW IT.

And continue to blow it - second by second.

WTF is the deal????
Why have they not hired professionals yet?

It is a slap in the face to those of us in the field!

I have a feeling Romney will end up taking Michigan, in the end; it's his home-state, he's sunk who knows how much money into it...and I'm just getting "that feeling".

McCain will probably come in second, Huckabee in 3rd, and Ron Paul in 4th....Guiliani 5th, and Fred Thompson dead last.

If Romney drops out, this'll turn into a war of attrition; with the people's money (Ron Paul) vs the bankrupt candidates (Huckabee and McCain...with Guiliani possibly coming up next).

I just hope Thompson doesn't suddenly surge at the last minute...that could be really bad for us....I still kind of doubt that'll happen though.

I guess their waiting until Super Tuesday to spend the money, and wait for the other candidates to go bankrupt. Kind of like Giuliani waiting for Florida, but he already appears to be bankrupt since his staffers aren't being paid. I don't know. Our best hope is for Romney to win Michigan, since we won't be ... and continue to keep the race wide open. If Huckabee or McCain gets another win here, it won't be good. Paul should at least try for Nevada and then bombard California, for example with advertising.

Damn, Alexa, I hope you're right. I fear a few million illegals will be voting in California. I think that's how Loretta Sanchez (Orange County) got elected.

Yeah I heared about that. I think it was a heavilly populated illegals area/disstrict.

illegals can vote?

They get fake drivers licenses and fake social security cards. This is how they vote and collect Social Security. It's actually quite common and cards are dolled out illegally through the farming industry via 3rd parties. Or they just setup a shop in the barios and make them. There's busts every month or so.
