4.6-magnitude earthquake hits Barstow area, rattling much of Southern California

A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck the Barstow area Friday night and was followed by a 2.9 aftershock minutes later, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Place is a desert , would not think it would hurt it much . Became a railroad town after the Mojave were driven out. Still kind of a major crossroads and that is about it . No large buildings that would be in danger that I recall . Just a thirsty town near the end of old 66 . They may have a Route 66 Museum. Last 3 or four years around here it rains as much in a month here more often than not as a year there.
