40 % of all voters are independents!

Important facts to consider about the way obama won the last election:
1) a disenfranchised GOP voting block after the 8 bush years. many long time republicans voted for obama.
2) zero energy from the mccain campaign. the romney camp has the same problem, zero energy!
3) 1st timers; folks who never voted before also voted for obama in large numbers.
4) 'historic' vote for the US with regard to obama being the 1st african american to get the nomination.

NOT going to happen like this for obama this time around. The folks who bought the 'hope and change' slogan are finding that it's really 'more of the same'. This translates into less votes for the obama camp as well.

A 3rd party run that CAN compete for the independent vote is NOT out of the question.

The Paul campaign has more energy than the romney camp (not even close) and our energy can compete with the obama energy.

The GOP has shrunk! We would actually be taking votes from Romney in a general election! It would be a two man race between Paul and Obama, the romney camp would be lucky to pull 25%.

Someone from the campaign told me in March Ron Paul can't run 3rd party because there are "sore loser" laws to prevent people running 3rd party after losing their party's nomination. The decision to run 3rd party would have had to have been made some time ago ... that's at least how I understand it.

I am 100% confident that if Ron Paul can get into the debates, he will be a major contender for the presidency as third party. I bet everything I own.

Imo this is irrelevant. The point is stay up there in the debate as long as possible, and to keep the grassroots as energized as possible. Fight the fight right to the very end.

I would love him to, and I would also love Rand's endorsement of Mandate Mitt RomneyCare for Imperial President be part of it, since the establishment neo-Trots have continually threatened to ruin Rand's political career if Ron decided to run 3rd party (even though the GOP estab. will try destroy Rand's career regardless).

You yourself have indicated, in this thread that you are not sure he can't run 3rd Party.

The only problem with this theory, is that 95% of all voters, end up voting for an R or a D progressive.

The idea of a third, fourth or fifth party is awesome. But it has not worked. The trick is to make the independents understand that if they act as a block, they can defeat both of the progressive party's by voting for another.


Now the big trick, just how do you do that, since they own the airwaves, and constantly give the people only two choices to think about.

I think the issue is that it is too late to get on the november ballot as an independent, the other established parties have already chosen other candidates, or at least likely will.

There's only one trick to making the possibility of a third party freedom ticket possible. We must take over both parties and inject all the positions with freedom lovers, Ron Paul clones. Freedom Democrats and Liberty Republicans. I believe the Conservative Democrats and Conservative Republicans wanted to have a Presidential ticket in the past. This is the best way to make the U.S. go from a 2 party system to a 3 party system. Imagine if you have a Freedom Democrat and a Liberty Republican in the Presidential primaries. I honestly think the Libertarian Party, in this case, would serve in the time being, as a strong third option. You have the Libertarians, Freedom Democrats and Liberty Republicans all agree on the following:

- If a Freedom Democrat and Liberty Republican get nominated, the Libertarian Party of each state will choose who to endorse.
- If either a Freedom Democrat or a Liberty Republican get nominated, the Libertarian Party will endorse that candidate.
- If neither a Freedom Democrat or a Liberty Republican get nominated, the Libertarian Party will pick either one of these 2 or nominate someone else.

Create the Liberty Coalition with Lberty Republicans and Freedom Democrats, while also keeping the Libertarian Party well funded and always in the public eye on all issues. My idea may seem bizarre but I think it's the only way to break the 2 party stronghold against freedom.

I was told they did apply, but believe me, I wouldn't mind at all if I was misinformed. The person that told me that works for Dr. Paul, so I would be surprised if that was wrong...unless it was Benton who told me, but it wasn't.

I'd welcome a Johnson/Paul or Paul/Johnson ticket just as a big FUCK YOU at this point. They'd get all the Libertarians, RPs base, and the disenfranchised from the left, middle and indys. Win win.
