3" of snow in Louisiana

I could understand a limit on the number of gallons, but to double the price is not to help prevent hoarding but is gouging. There are a lot of people around here that are going be cold because they can't afford prices like that.

Place I used to live , I had a 1000 gallon tank. I filled it up and tried to just never use it . Sat in front of the fireplace in the winter.Thank goodness I have none of it anymore. There is no way the avg person could pay $7 a gallon . My therm. finally made it to zero , so I am going to put on my coveralls , feed the animals and throw some wood in the basement I stacked up next to the house yesterday .Looks like Mon - Wed will be about the same as today . Bummer.

Swimming with polar bears. I guess your body gets used to it.
20f seems like 8 layers of clothing weather to me.

Enjoy the temporary Snow Day.

It warmed up here.
Snow showers with widespread blowing snow. High near 14. Wind chill values as low as -9. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of around 2 inches.

White out conditions at the moment.

I am looking forward to next Thurs , four consecutive days forecast in the mid twenties from then on , sweet :)

I am half coon ass, half redneck. Born in Baton Rouge, raised up half my life in New Orleans, and spending my latter teen years in North Mississippi (Calhoun County. If anyone knows where that is, I'll mail you the money for a grand steak dinner). My early travels never took me further north than St. Louis, MO.

I used to love snow. Always thought it was just awesome. Then a job took me to Elkhart, IN. I arrived there in late July of '09. When the snow first hit that year, I was literally scoping my neighbors out (you know, who will I rob for supplies, who will I be willing to eat, ect.)

I now live in DEEP south Alabama, 10 minutes from the Florida line. The average winter temp here has been 50s, with an occasional low of high 20s for a day. Never again will I live further north than I am now.

I guess the main point of this is I hate snow now.....

Well , Welch's Kitchen in Pittsboro is better eating than those stringy Elkhart County folks .

I can still enjoy snow because it is rare.

Our school district was closed yesterday because of -30 wind chills and then today, it is 15 degrees and some of the high school kids are wearing shorts and sandals. Crazy Minnesotans.

Our schools are closed today because of the double digit wind chills.

Cold weather in the south seems colder because of the humidity, I think. It's a dry cold up here. Seems to not sink in as deep or something. But once the wind starts blowing, that's when it sucks.

Go ahead and laugh... MOCK global warming (dont correct me, I'm an eco-orthodox, and I use CORRECT terminology)...

You'll see, just wait... THE END IS NIGH!!!!!!

"Get your carbon tax credits here!! Credits! Credits! Come get your carbon tax credits, here! Save the planet, the end is nigh, step right up - hurray hurray.."

I always think that's true too. Then you add the wind chill AND the humidity together....brrrr!! Of course, what we consider "cold" temps would be laughed at by most of you yankees. This is how kids in N'awlins go to school once the temps dip into the 60s:
