I just talked to one of the Puerto Rico Ron Paul organizers

Here is basically what he told me.

1) They have a small grassroots organization (about 40 known supporters)
2) They have 18 delegates registered that will be voted on primary day
3) Polls open Sunday 3/18 @ 8am-3pm
4) Closed primary, can register same day (with a border I.D.)
5) They are planning to come out with some commercial ads
6) Romney's got the establishment support (money, political, influential)
7) We can win, just need to overwhelm the establishment with real voters turning out (which isn't hard)
8) He is going to send me a contact list and we will be calling into P.R. this weekend

How YOU can help.

1) If you have campaign material you'd like to send to P.R. they would truly appreciate it (PM me for address)
2) If you would like to help call into P.R. please speak up, especially if you have skype or google voice and can call for cheap.
3) If you would like to donate money to help them out, please PM me for address to send checks.

Based on the last 20 or so states, it certainly SEEMS hard. Because it is.

You don't seem to realize that Ron Paul is working under TWO handicaps. 1. That Romney has MUCH more supporters. and 2. That Romney's supporters are more likely to be voting.

Ron Paul has to convince his smaller supporter group to vote in MUCH higher percentages...and that is showing to be impossible to do since that small group is an age group that simply doesn't vote.

Numbers wise, and these numbers are being pulled straight from my ass (though I think they are not far off.) say Romney had 100 supporters. Then chances are Paul would have like 30. Now Romney's supporters of of age groups that would mean that without much prodding, 40% might vote. But Paul's supporters are of the generation that without any prodding, maybe 20% would vote. (being generous) So even WITH prodding, if you got that to 75% (ridiculously generous) he still comes up short.

Hey...if you are in Puerto Rico and want to sped some time, sure. But if you are in a position to spend your time and effort in another territory or state, I would say Puerto Rico is not worth the limited time/funds that you have. Some times you really DO just have to write some battles off as losses and conserve your ammo for winnable ones. And once Romney got the endorsement of the governor AND the fact that it is a primary and not a caucus, that became a done deal.

Are you serious? yea JUST GIVE UP on your first post. Some of us don't play like that.

Glad you stopped lurking and started posting but I hope you realize Puerto Rico only had a little over 200 votes last time, majority establishment, McCain won.

It isn't hard to turn out 200 people to vote for Ron Paul. Especially when they are considered constitutionalists.

You see an activist thread like this and you shoot it down not knowing..well...shit.

You want to see Ron Paul become president? get to work.

Nice job :D

Also if anyone wants to make calls and is being held back by
(A)Not having Skype or Google Voice
(B)Not being familiar/comfortable with making professional calls.

Then Please PM me. I've done volunteering this year making Calls for Paul and I've worked professionally at call centers in various fields and locations.
I'd be happy to help you get set up with the Skype/GVoice and I can explain the calling system to you (it's actually very simple) and wouldn't mind running a practice call to get you warmed up. :)

Is www.rp2012.com robopolling Puerto Rico? If we could find 1000 supporters, and then turn out even just 25% of them, that sounds like it would be enough to win.
That's a good question, wonder if someone more in the know than me can clue us in? :) (I'm they'd need a fundraising push to get it done, but it seems like a good idea)

Please be careful when calling the islands or Hawaii. If you can't speak spanish, I wouldn't call Puerto Rico. Similarly if you aren't familiar with Hawaiian customs, get on wikipedia, THEN get on the phone, if at all.

I second that we need to be careful calling Hawaii and need to understand their customs before doing so. But looks like they are only talking Puerto Rico right now...

Anybody still have those $50 facebook ads credits? We can target Puerto Rico...there are quite a few libertarians!

I know not of which you speak, which leads me to believe that I may very well have (or be able to obtain) said credits.
If anyone wants to give me a run down on how to do that and what an effective method of employing facebook ads towards these ends would be I'm more than happy to do it :)

I created new account.
Sent you PM with user name and password.

You can do with account whatever you want. My spanish is a little bu+it rusty to say at least (I know to say: "Muchas gracias Senorata")

WE MUST WIN Puerto Rico! It is winner take all, and a whopping 23 delegates for such a low voter turnout .

What are your thoughts on getting something like this set up?
Colonel Doug Macgregor will be on the Birmingham, Alabama FM airwaves on Monday @ 4CST with Richard Dixon - The day before the Alabama primary!

http://www.100wapi.com/

Please help me line up more interviews for Colonel Macgregor and Adam Kokesh - all it takes is asking!

Feel free to share my contact info with show producers and hosts

Call in interview?

Bump for robocalling Puerto Rico. rp08orbust, can you set that up? Is there a list to buy? If your results in Washington, Idaho, and ND are any indication, this should not cost very much, yet should be very effective.
