Thomas Piketty has been all the rage lately but another progressive being mentioned in the same breath has been Elizabeth Warren.
She is beloved by the left and a new progressive leader - but she has some strange opinions and I thought I would share with you.
*She has championed a $22 minimum wage which she says is what workers deserve to earn - if capitalism were fair.
*She has stated that in her belief there is no evidence that a minimum wage causes unemployment.
*She claims that trickle-down economics doesn't work: "The data don't lie on this. He's got good historical data, and boy, what it shows is trickle down doesn't work. Never did, doesn't work." - she says, talking about Piketty.
*Another strange claim of hers is the following: "During my Senate campaign, I ate a number 11 at McDonald’s many, many times a week. I know the price on that. $7.19. If we raised the minimum wage to $10.10 over three years, the price increase on that item would be about four cents. So instead of being $7.19 it would be $7.23."
*Her degree is in speech pathology and audiology for whatever thats worth.
Some are touting this lady for a Presidential run in 2016.
Im sure it won't surprise you to learn that she has never run McDonalds franchise, nor apparently, any business whatsoever.
She has worked in academia for decades and then moved over into government jobs in recent years.
What do you make of this kind of person? She appears to have no real knowledge of anything as best I can tell. Maybe thats what makes her perfect for the left.
