Craig McMichael is running for U.S Congress again against Kevin Brady. District 8 in Texas.
McMichael is solid!
This is the main problem with the liberty movement. We're investing ourselves so much in one political office and in one particular surname that we're missing the forest for the trees. We need to be fighting for liberty at all levels, whether federal, state, or local. Whether it's President, Senator, Congressman, Governor, State Senator, State Rep, Mayor, or City Councilman/Alderman/whatever, we have to fight for liberty in those positions and get such people elected to them. That list is awesome. A lot of liberty movement fire for state and local elections is missing this cycle. That's unfortunate, as the socialist feelthebern folks are out in full force.
Is Fabby running again?
My friends, today marks the filing deadline to run for elected office in Texas.
I will be sitting this one out, but I will be doing what I can to make sure other honest, liberty-minded candidates are elected to local, state, and national offices.
My decision not to run for state rep/District 10 should, by no means, be taken as an endorsement of the current occupant of that seat. I strongly believe we need better conservative representation in Austin, but my young family and my businesses need me and all of my attention for a while longer.
Many of you contact me each election cycle and ask me which candidates for whom I recommend you vote...
...so I'll be endorsing candidates periodically and letting you know who I support in various races. Hopefully, I will have some small influence on the outcome of some of these very important races.
I encourage all of you to stay informed about the races and issues that effect you and help those candidates you believe in as much as you can. Running a serious campaign for office is no easy task and they need your financial and volunteer support.
I hope and pray that the crony establishment takes a huge blow this primary season and another step towards more freedom and less government is made.
May God bless the good and honest people of Texas and may liberty abound in our Great Lonestar State!
