2016 Iowa Caucus Thread

The choice is a criminal versus a socialist. How can anyone take sides on that match up? Geeeeeeeeeesh.

I'm just annoyed with them, they vote for a Canadian that is owned by the banks, a bigot, Marco Polo and now Bernie Sanders. But completely ignore the one man that truly wants to help this nation.

I think we are headed to a brokered convention and it will be a bloodbath on the way to it and it will be Rubio at the end of the day. I actually thought it would be Rubio from the start ...sadly. The establishment in DC will pour money into Rubio now.

Yea and then dumbass Trump will run Independent because the GoP was unfair to him and the criminal or the socialist gets elected.

I think you are totally wrong, especially since the youth of today are being trained to rely on welfare, free this and free that, financial support from birth until grave. By the time the older people pass on, this will be a communist nation, a place you won't wish to live in.

Agreed. Not to offend anyone of the yutes here, but I have little to non faith in the millennial generation to further the liberty movement.

When I see people like this unhappy, it just makes me happy!

The alt-right was pumped up!

It's the "Evangicucks'" fault!

"Commit sudoku"

Now the alt-right is throwing it's support behind Bernie!

Just posted this on Rand's FB page:

Good job tonight Rand !! Taking 5th place, and beating all the Governors, including a Bush, is highly respectable. Let's take it to New Hampshire. There is so much dirt on Cruz, Rubio, and Trump, the door is still wide open for you during the primaries. Let them self destruct, and let's win this, President Rand Paul .

I posted this on a certain other extremely negative topic but I'd like to share it here too..

Ok as a young person who's been watching closely and has really grown to like Rand a lot let me just put in my 2 cents. Once the media starts really digging at Ted Cruz, I believe he will lose a lot of his support. Donald Trump is just a huge distraction right now. Marco Rubio is basically Bush III. Carson is unqualified to be president although a likeable and surely a genuine guy at heart. He just wears his superstitions too much on his sleaves.

Paul still has a good chance, he's ahead of Bush, Fiorina, Christie, Santorum, obviously Huckabee dropped out. Guys this wasn't a huge win but it also wasn't a total loss. Let's keep a positive attitude moving forward, this is an INSANE race. So much could happen, you could possibly say maybe it's good Paul hasn't peaked yet.

Paul is live on Facebook! Guys, if Carson drops out (which I can see coming, since he's going to Florida now like he doesn't care), then Paul could be in the top 4, get more debate time, and dominate the logic that people are exposed to in debates.

That was always the biggest lie. There never was libertarian moment. There was a Ron Paul moment that attracted libertarians because Ron is a libertarian. But most of the coalition was something other than libertarian.

I'm not a Libertarian, definitely not in the "the minimum wage should never be raised" form of Libertarianism that is practiced here.

In the last 4 years things have gotten much worse. And change like that isn't going to drive the people who see it that way towards politics, but more to living in a cave.

The smarter people got fed up a while ago. Now the not quite as smart people are fed up, and they're voting for Trump or Cruz. The smarter fed up people might think, now, that chopping off the heads of the bad guys is the only solution, and not something that's going to happen. Going rah rah for whatever Paul is on the ballot gets tiring after a while. Oh, so the GOP screws the Maine delegates, we'll get em next time. Yeah, right. Diminshing marginal returns.

And there's this, too. The US is the worst country in the world. Or Israel, ok, Israel, but our Government is the worst in the world. Given this, who in their right mind is going to want to vote for the people who are going to the worst in the world. We're the bad guys. It's like voting for Darth. Whichever Darth you're voting for, he's still going to be a Darth, and do Darth-like things. Which of these people do you want to be doing a whole bunch of things I don't want done. Which of these people will be the best at attacking other countries and killing innocent people for no reason? They all end up doing the same things. Oh, great 5 of the 50 ideas they have I like. Those 5 won't happen. I'm not talking about Rand Paul here, keep on fighting, etc etc, but, you know, I'm talking about what actually happens. Which of these 2 people in November do you want to be the worst on the planet? My choice here is a greater choice, because we attack everybody. We aren't like a normal country, who might attack a handful of neighboring countries for comprehensible reasons, but typically doesn't. No, we're the country that attacks everybody for no reason, and whether it's a D or an R - we will continue to attack more countries more often than any other country, extending our all time record of consecutive years with attacks and / or invasions.

You just found the problem...we THOUGHT the 157 were liberty voters.

They werent. They were just anti-pc, anti-washington voters.

Ron was the only anti in the 2012 races. This time we have 4+ running as the anti's.

They werent liberty votes...thats where we all screwed up.

Nope, they weren't. And they didn't need to be, either. What we needed was their votes. But, here, on RPFs the purity squad is so busy running people out of here who don't walk lockstep with them, that they overlooked this crucial point. WE NEED VOTES and not only from the self-ordained purity squad.

Yep, good point.

I gave money today, my first this cycle.

Absolutely, keep grinding on, etc. Anything can happen, etc. There are others who have done worse, etc.

These days, paying attention to politicians is kinda awful though.

The people don't want logic ...They want a government with a $19T dollar debt to give them freebies and the blood of Mexicans and Muslims. That is the message of this election thusfar.
