2016 Iowa Caucus Thread

We know that the Donald's negatives are sky high, so quite a few people are going merely to vote against Trump. At the same time, we know we are first with the under thirty crowd. Question is how many can we galvanize at these cuacus sites?

Rick Santorum says goodbye to Iowa

Urbandale, Iowa (CNN)Barring a miracle, the Iowa caucuses will likely mark the end of Rick Santorum's long quest for the presidency.

On the eve of the caucuses, without conceding defeat, Santorum gave a proper goodbye to a state that has served as a second home to him, and at times, his entire family. On Sunday night, his campaign assembled devoted volunteers, friends, family and supporters for one final Iowa hurrah for the man who pulled off a jaw-dropping surprise victory in the state four years ago, but hasn't been able to catch a break in the Era of Trump.

About forty die-hard Santorumites joined together in a private room at a Pizza Ranch restaurant. The evening was full of nostalgia, sadness and hope, and a pinch of denial, to celebrate a man who hosted more than 700 events in the Hawkeye State.

"It has been an honor. It really has," Santorum said. "I hope we have another opportunity, but my guess is that when we come in on Air Force One, we're not going to have these types of deals because we're going to have a country to run."

The crowd laughed, lovingly, knowing that what he said wasn't true and probably would never be.

The Rubio campaign just predicted a "strong 3rd" for their guy.

Heard the same thing about the "anti-trump" voters. This could prove to be a good thing that we have so many precint captains.

CNN: Carson going home to Florida tonight, not to New Hampshire at all (nor any other early state), regardless of result; also planning to make a speech around 9:00 pm Central, before results will all be in. Sounds like he's done.

I wish they would show some site in the colleges.. That would be awesome considering its something very new.

Here's hoping for the best. Would love to see a top 3 finish. I wonder what time substantial results will be in? 10 eastern time?

Yeah, thats what it sounds like to me too. He ran an odd campaign. Heard lots of reports of people crossing to register as republicans, both pro trump and anti trump. Wonder if the sober candidate gathers a significant number of anti-trumps. I dont see them going to cruz.
