What is the Free State Project and why do I care.

Furthermore, does Mr. Stossel have any particular plans for the mustache?

2 great questions and 1 I don't know.

What is the Free State Project?
http://freestateproject.org/intro
The Free State Project is an agreement among 20,000 pro-liberty activists to move to New Hampshire, where they will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of government is the protection of life, liberty, and property. The success of the Project would likely entail reductions in taxation and regulation, reforms at all levels of government, to expand individual rights and free markets, and a restoration of constitutional federalism, demonstrating the benefits of liberty to the rest of the nation and the world.

Why should you care?
People have tried to bring about freedom in the United States for 100s of years. However, decade after decade, government grows. The national debt continues to grow. The amount of government regulations, laws, rules and codes continues to grow. This isn't a problem with just the national government. It's also true of all 50 state governments plus many county, city and even town government. Many strategies to reduce government and increase freedom have been tried. None have worked. Government continues to grow. The FSP is a new strategy. It's based on the idea of concentrating around 20,000 liberty activists in 1 low populated state with a history of freedom and a governmental system where the people have a lot of influence.

1,000s of the top liberty activists in the US got together. They spent 10,000s of hours researching which state would make the best destination state for the FSP. After all of the time and effort. After many trips and reports. There was a vote. New Hampshire won the vote for many reasons. Check out 101 Reasons You Should Move to New Hampshire (If You Love Liberty) to learn more about New Hampshire. http://freestateproject.org/101Reasons

As for Liberty Forum, it is 1 of the 2 annual events put on by the FSP. The idea is to showcase NH to perspective participants. Liberty Forum happens during Winter and is located in the most urban parts of New Hampshire near the MA border. The FSP also puts on another event to showcase NH to perspective participants - the Porcupine Freedom Festival. Porcfest happens during Summer and is located in 1 of the most rural parts of New Hampshire near the Canadian and Vermont borders.

Some people who don't even want to move to NH attend Liberty Forum or Porcfest because they are the biggest liberty events in the Northeast. Some people come for the speakers. Some people come for the environment. Some people attend Porcfest in particular because it is the biggest heavily camping based liberty event in the world.

I haven't seen John Stossel since he attended Liberty Forum. I have no idea about his mustache. What do you think he should do with it?

All I know is that in America today, John Stossel's mustache is the product, and liberty is the upsell.

, the guy that runs Liberty Forum, was on Stossel in 2011. Stossel still had his mustache then.

Stossel also did an interview with the founder of the FSP in 2007, while at Liberty Forum.

NASHUA – The Crown Plaza of Nashua will play host to the Free State Project’s Liberty Forum of New Hampshire from Feb. 21-24.

The forum is the state’s “premier liberty-oriented conference,” according to its website, drawing together people to discuss strategies to reduce government interference, and to “better” society through business, arts, volunteer work and other efforts.

The forum includes job and law panels, as well as four 30-minute “mini sessions” on 72-hour emergency kits, knowing your rights, austere medicine, and information to help people “settle in” in New Hampshire.

I hope everyone enjoyed attending the Liberty Forum. If you didn't attend, I hope you enjoyed the live stream or the coverage from the radio shows that aired live from the event.

The Sunday edition of the NH statewide paper had a positive article about Liberty Forum.

I actually don't agree with everything mentioned in the article. However, I think some disagreement among free staters is healthy.

The Nashua Telegraph, the paper for the 2nd largest city in NH, ran 3 of the 4 front page articles on Sunday about the Liberty Forum, all positive.

A special treat. Since some of the people that run Shire.TV are running for office, they were unable to create a live episode of Shire.TV on Monday. So instead, they ran a show showing highlights (if you will) from Liberty Forum.

The above video is Tom Wood's Liberty Forum speech. I saw it on the NHforLiberty blog. Below is the blog post without all of the links.

Watch the full keynote speech below: (Tom Woods starts at 7:38)

The 2013 Liberty Forum was a great success. Now consider joining us in June for one of the largest gatherings of freedom lovers in the world, The Porcupine Freedom Festival! . Also known as PorcFest, this is the Free State Project’s flagship annual summer gathering in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Note: “The Free State Project is an agreement among 20,000 pro-liberty activists to move to New Hampshire, where they will exert the fullest practical effort toward the creation of a society in which the maximum role of government is the protection of life, liberty, and property.”… If this sounds good to you consider joining the Free State Project
