In case my other lengthy post doesn't make it through, I wanted some basic ideas to be heard. I feel that Ron Paul needs to really start standing out, and this means making some bold statements. Right now Gingrich has an indirect peace treaty with other candidates, claiming not to slander. He's trying to take what should be Paul's position away from him. Saying that he's the "most experienced" candidate. That he's the "best debater out of all the other candidates" and that would be what matters when he goes against Obama. For those of us who listen to what Ron Paul says, we know this is exponentially more true about him than anyone else. And if RP can't convince Gingrich supporters of this, that split of votes might make or break his run this year.
I propose campaigning hard against two controversial topics:
1> The Unconstitutionality of the wars being passed. His statement would be that the President is taking away the rights of our soldiers and their families by bypassing Congress and public opinion. It would directly slam Obama who has been trying to push through his war agenda past Congress, which is a current issue. This will pressure an Obama response, and it will put RP in the spotlight, bringing out the idea that he is a candidate that can beat him. He's been an avid speaker against Unconstitutional war declarations, he has donations which far exceed other candidates from soldiers, thus giving him merit, and it would set him apart from Obama and prop his foreign policy up to be more receptive as well.
2> Convert the OWS from 99% - 1% into 50 States vs 1 Federal Gov't. His ideals are congruent with theirs; the major concern that lobbyists are running America. He wants to deregulate and give power back to individuals to make decisions. Easy campaign backing and publicity here. Plus it would put Obama in a tight spot where he would have to support Wall Street, taking away more Democratic votes from him. If Obama supports OWS, then RP would already have their backing and win it anyway.
Please, someone get these ideas to his campaigners. He needs to take a stand and start pressuring the media, while the Holidays are near, families are dear, and other candidates fear... Ron Paul and his debating skills. He thrives in controversy. Call it to him, and the people will see he is genuine.
