I've read that a candidate must get 20% of the vote in order to be granted national convention delegates in Georgia; is that true?

Man, that sucks if it is true.

Well, I voted and my wife early voted both for RP. My mother and sister are supposed to go vote and both support Paul. I met several strong supporters while campaigning last Saturday and last night in my precinct and a ton of undecideds. Can't wait to see the results in my precinct tonight!

Doesn't matter what % we need, if the grinch wins and drops out at a later date all those delegates have the potential to be ours.

20% Threshold for proportional delegate allocation for the overall State (34 delegates). If someone gets 50% they get 100% of the 34 delegates.

No threshold for the delegate awarded per district. 3 delegates per district (14 districts) with 1st place getting 2 and second getting 1 unless 1st place gets 50% then they get 100% of 3 delegates in that district.

So a district could be 49% to 18% to 17% to 16% and the person with 18% would get one delegate. So mathematically with 4 people in the race, delegates awarded per district is pretty much a 20% threshold with 50% being a winner take all 3 delegates.

1. That only holds for delegates from the state, not the district conventions.
2. Gingrich will likely drop out after today, unbinding many of GA's delegates.

I'm a precinct delegate in GA, going to the county convention on Saturday. Also, I was the only person at the voting place when I voted today.

You were? What happened to your passengers?

I am pretty sure no one will get any where close to 50% of the vote in Ga. Maybe I am wrong, but I think it is going to be surprisingly close between all 4 of them.

I'm 18. I biked to the polling place, and all my friends who I've converted are in colleges all over the state. I converted my dad, who's voting later, and is a precinct delegate with me.

I voted at 8 this AM and there was one other guy there. He was also a RP supporter. Going to the Atlanta party tonight too. https://ga4ronpaul.com/Event.aspx?ID=420 If you are in/near Atlanta tonight, please come by.

I'm going too! See you there.
