some of you just could not wait for Ron Paul to lose by a couple votes so you could prance around posting this shit, right? I mean, heck, you're dancing for joy, right? You've been hoping and praying for the past week that you could pin this on Ron Paul.

Disgusting.

No. I agree with the OP and I am sick in the pit of my stomach. :( So many of us saw this coming. :(

It strikes me that the blowhards on this forum who make endless idiotic predictions and prognostications are doing more harm than any of those offering constructive criticisms.

Our constructive criticism was for the campaign to get to Maine before Saturday.

Uh, no. People who want to President are literally psychotic. There is something seriously wrong with them and they should be institutionalized.

So, I am confused...are you saying Ron Paul is psychotic, or that he doesn't really want to be president and is just jerking us all around?

And please look up the definition of "literally"

I also have to say toward some other comments in this thread that it is very disturbing that "realism" is frowned upon and looked at as a negative on this forum. It is also strange that the biggest culprits of living with your heads in the clouds or buried in the sand all have join dates of 2008 or earlier so you have been through this all before and still think it will be different?

Especially those of you convinced the Ron Paul has dominated every state and is currently on a 58 state winning streak since 2008. If he has won and been cheated...then how exactly is that going to change in Washington St.? Or any state?

Realism is the way to get people to listen to you. Constantly whining over the same thing is not. Do you know what people do when they encounter a broken record? They throw it away. They don't fire up the old Victrola and listen to it.

Notice...Ron Paul's camp is NOT whining about the state putting the citizens SAFETY first when there was an expected major snow and ice storm with a travel advisory issued. Why? Because Ron Paul knows that it would make him look bad to suggest that people should be denied the right to vote in the caucus simply because they didn't want to risk their lives traveling 25 miles to their caucus place. It is NOT good to say "All citizens should have a chance to vote! Unless it helps us if they don't!"

Yes, as I have said on numerous other threads this week, why Ron stayed in Clute, Texas and did not Campaign in Maine like he really wanted to win the State is something that is beyond belief. If this was the first time it happened you might be able to dismiss it, but it is now the second, remember after the surprise second place in New Hampshire, 4 straight days in Clute before returning to the Campaign trail.

Yes, 35.7% of the Vote is an all time high reached which includes both 2008 and 2012. I congratulate the Maine RP Grassroots who worked their tails off, but we still finished second and are now 0-9 in 2012. By all accounts Maine was our best chance to actually win a State, and we came up 194 votes short.

Donations say a lot about where we are right now. Do you know how much the RP Donation Daily Tracker has surged since our best finish in any State ever?

$6,000.00 in just over two hours. That dollar figure raised tells you how the RP Grassroots is reacting tonight.....not very well at all.

WINNING IS EVERYTHING AND WE DID NOT WIN!!!! Enough said.....

shut up dude. Ron Paul is working his ass off and so is the campaign.

If we can agree that the campaign's job is to actually win elections, I think it's a fair to say that the campaign is not doing its job. McCain came from behind after he fired his staff and replaced them. Ditto Newt, for a while. This is the second time we've watched Ron Paul stand firmly behind a campaign that, while certainly is trying very hard, isn't capable of winning. If they aren't going to quit or get fired, this is how Ron Paul's personal legacy will end. Not with a bang, but a whimper.

If Ron Paul was there all week they would just have more Romney caucus sites added and rescheduled/moved more Ron Paul sites.

No, most of us stayed silent and prayed that Paul knew what he was doing, because it seemed almost pretty obvious that he should actually be campaigning...it's a campaign, after all, Now, we're just really sad to find out that we were right.

So why wasn't Paul in Maine for atleast 2 of those three days? Campaign Manager or did Paul decided it?

If I was the Campaign manager, I would of pretty much force him into Maine.

Why all the self hate?

WE ARE THE CAMPAIGN!!!

No we are not. Just ask Matt - he's better than we are, because he's been with the campaign. We are only the wallets. The only thing they want from us is our money. They made that loud and clear.

We've been told over and over that we need to listen and do exactly what they say to do. Hows that working out?

FOr all you old timers here - I've even got an email here from Matt, where he tells me they have a plan, but of course he can't tell me what it is. I sort of knew our goose was cooked when I saw that.

I just heard Whitney houston died, for the next two weeks that's what will be on the news. Not to make it sound crazy but it really wouldn't have mattered if Paul would have won or not if you remember the coverage Michael Jacksons death got.

EVERYONE on this board could have done a little or alot something more to get the 190 votes in tonight, including paul

so if you blame Paul blame yourselF

Dr. Paul is an old man with a large family which he loves very much,
perhaps he had a family emergency which he did not wish to publicize
perhaps he needed the rest because he's old as shit, who knows?!

we all could have done a little more to win Maine, not just Ron Paul

How liberal. Avoiding all semblance of any responsibility.

Your personal attacks really diminish your credability. Did the Maine GOP add new caucuses in areas that favored Romney? Did they reschedule/move caucuses dates/sites in areas that favored Ron Paul? The answer to both is yes. Will we get most if not all of the delegates out of Maine? Again another yes. We already know that following the strategy we did last time will not work. They are following a delegate strategy so how come people are not supporting this strategy and instead criticize the popular vote strategy that failed last time and one that the campaign is not running this time. Your criticizing a strategy that Ron Paul is not following. Thats like criticizing a football player for not going deep into the pitch count.

I humbly request everyone to please stop arguing about the past. "1836" posted the states that are winnable by Mar 6th:
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showth...to-Focus-on-Through-Super-Tuesday-(w-details)

If we can Dr. Paul to campaign in these 4/5 states all month, it will more than make up for the loss in Maine. It would also erase the perception (real or not) that Dr. Paul is not campaigning hard. Frankly, I was perplexed at the decision to not campaign in Maine until Saturday. There were threads here beginning on Wednesday about this. Anyway it is past now and there IS time now to campaign for the Mar 3rd/6th caucuses.

I think WA, ND, ID are definitely winnable and AK likely. Please put your energy into convincing the campaign to go all in in these 4/5 states.
