17% of Maine not to be counted?

I dropped the chairman a brief email. Hope many others do as well. I hope maine sees to it that they have a new chairman at the soonest opportunity.

That's BS!! They just disenfranchised 17% of the precincts! Really??? Really really???

Whoever the Washington county guy was who cancelled the caucus due to "bad weather" needs to resign, and whoever decided to not count those totals also needs to resign.

But hey, it's a good thing the straw vote doesn't amount to a hill of beans anyways right? Then again, if it doesn't matter, then why does the party care either way?

Much ado about nothing I say.

Btw, has anyone figured out why the governor left Maine to fly to NC/FL yet?

I emailed them as well
"As a young high school student I am disappointed that Maine GOP would not let 98 precincts have their voice heard. The Maine caucus was spread out for weeks, but you couldn't wait a few more days to hear the other 98 precincts? This is not democracy. You had the results you wanted and you decided to not count the other 17% of the precincts. With less than 200 votes between the two, you should have waited. Shame on Maine for not being an example for democracy. I hope my generation will not be as corrupt as the current one"

This is a lesson in political gambles. The state chairman knows what he did has weakened his local political future. 1/3 of the party base in Maine no longer trusts him. But .... he has upped his odds of getting a spot in a Romney administration.

Great job! You are very well spoken.

More like those people need to be charged with federal election tampering and voter fraud.

Is there a source for this besides the DailyPaul? I believe the story is true. I just wonder if there is a source that I can share with non-Paul supporters.

The Maine vote totals reflected about 84 percent of the state's precincts. The contests scheduled for the coming days - including an entire county that postponed its caucuses because of a snow storm - will not be counted, according Webster, the state GOP chairman.

"We're not going to even accept the ballots. No one's going to keep track of them," he said, noting that those were the rules established by the party.

I take issue with the word democracy. America is not a democracy, and that is not what we want. Otherwise, decent email, though.

Which would be serious if the vote actually mattered. Like I said, much ado about nothing.

Besides, I heard the number of actual votes involved is pretty sparse. Less than 200 votes.

According to a number of sites there's 98 precincts still left to vote.If just 5 people voted at each thats almost 500 votes

I agree... we are a repulic, and many people fought and died to make that a reality. Some people are throwing it away in favor of mob rule....

Republic - rule of law.

Democracy - majority rules/minority loses.
