Why would anyone think that trump's war on immigrants would turn out any differently than the war on drugs? Make something more difficult to obtain (in this case, entry to the US), and it only creates a larger black market, the price goes up, only the criminals profit, the police state expands, and freedom diminishes. As more states legalize and decriminalize controlled substances and decrease demand from the black market, it's a given that black market suppliers will turn to another product like entry into the US, and that's exactly what you're seeing here. And just like the war on drugs, the shylls and trumpettes supporting the war on immigrants (which is nothing more than another war on us) will call for more expansion of the big brother police state as their "solution".
