Could we add the official youtube video for the first post ?
If someone can make a GOOD flier, or half flier. I'll start printing and passing out.
There's two other things I need. A Facebook pledge widget and printable flyers.
In case any of you noticed, I used a lot more example images in this thread and I included a lot of copy and paste messages that people can quickly use to promote the money bomb.
Now that you have this thread, are you going to email the Black This Out list? We've waited too long if you ask me.
I'm not promoting this until we get an answer to this question. Not this again..
Why can't the list be handed over to Josh or an elder?
I'm not promoting this until we get an answer to this question.
What is wrong with the email list for BTO? Why can't we use it? Stop disappearing and dodging this question. I don't want to direct any more people to the BTO-style website until we figure out why the emailers keep flaking out.
Does the list need to be managed by someone else? Or is there something technically wrong with it? Let's get this hashed out NOW.
The teaparty11.com site still says "11,538 Pledges So Far." All but a few hundred of those are in reality BTO email addresses that have been added to the TeaParty site even though they never actually pledged to the TeaParty moneybomb. Last I read, those were supposed to be sorted out and the BTO emails taken out of the count. This has apparently not happened yet.
Those emails need to be removed before we get in to a bunch of controversy when people who haven't pledged to the TeaParty bomb try to pledge and find out they are already pledged. Some people won't mind but there are likely a LOT who do and will be angry. This needs to be a priority, as in ASAP.
People need to be able to trust that we aren't doing anything shady with their emails, and this bogus count is really getting us off on the wrong foot.
The email updates should only go out to people who have pledged to the particular bomb you are promoting, in this case the TeaParty bomb. There should be ONE email to the BTO list informing them of the new bomb. If people choose not to participate in the TeaParty bomb, they shouldn't get updates for it. If you send ALL of the updates to the whole list, you will get people unsubscribing en masse. This is why there is a delay. We're trying to separate these back out so that pledges are maintained on a separate list, but e-mail updates go out to all subscribers from both moneybombs. It's been a headache, but we should have it sorted out here very soon.

You have to respect people's wishes. They signed up for BTO, so it is reasonable to let them know about the next bomb. However, if they decide not to participate in the TeaParty bomb, you will only annoy them with updates to that bomb, triggering usubscribes. That is why the subscription has to start over for each new bomb.
Note the date, 11/14/07. As of TEN DAYS ago, in '07, there were already more pledges to TeaParty than there ever were to BTO. That's how behind this bomb is.
Can we please get realistic about how long it is going to take to get the site operational? "Very soon" doesn't do it. We need real information so we can make some serious decisions. Like possibly we should slap up a bare bones site with a feedburner email pledge box. Because if it's this difficult to get the site going, we need to do something different.
No, actually, it's because the campaign is doing pretty much all the promotion with their own email list. This is true, however keep in mind that subscribers aren't necessarily indicative of actual donors. For example, we had less than 1/3 of the total list Trevor collected for TeaParty07, but we still attracted 45k donors to BTO in comparison to 59k for TeaParty07. It was the second highest donor amount we've had for any of the moneybombs. This is representative of our improvement in promotional efforts outside of the list-building. We really should keep that in mind and duplicate our efforts from BTO.
What I would recommend is focusing on getting web sites to add the widgets to their web sites and work on getting the word out. Meanwhile, we'll get the list straightened out, but we don't have to rest everything upon the list for decisions as it's only one aspect. Sentinelrv has great detail here on what can be done and we need as many people as possible going through and getting active in it.

We need some hard facts here. When will the list be operational? I posted before that I'm NOT encouraging anyone to sign up on a list we can't use.
We need to set up a process. When we want to send an email out, it should go out. We need Sentinelrv to be in charge of when the emails go out. We need you to put the ability to do this in his hands.
As things stand, it's my opinion that the email sign-up should be switched to feedburner on the TeaParty site so that there will be no more delay.
