#107 - Ralph Nader Returns

folks that are supporting Nader or did previously in years past, such as myself, ought to be encouraged to throw their support into the Paul camp.

I wonder who Phil Donohue is supporting? He was a very vocal supporter of Ralph Nader.

This is good cause all the anti-establishment dems poisned by the newsletter smears will still go to nader instead of obama

You must remember Nader's run in 2000 got Bush in the first time.
Nader ran in '04 as an independent but didn't get even a single percentage
nationwide because it was an election to defeat Kerry no matter how unpopular
Bush was.
I'll vote for Nader if the race came down to Hillary Vs. McCain or Hillary Vs. Romney.
I hate both of the major parties but I'm still voting for Ron Paul in the primary.

If I can't at least write in Ron Paul in november, a vote for Nader I guess would be protest enough

Here's what I don't understand about the GOP thinking process.

They've done all they can to ridicule, belittle, and outright ignore the Paul supporters. Now I'm willing to bet that a fair number of us Paulians are now or have been republicans.

In this upcoming general election, the Republican candidate is going to need all the help he can get. If it's Paul, no problem. If it's not, then they're going to need us (the last couple of elections have been decided by a couple percentage points).

However, given our die-hard nature and our resentment at the way we've been treated, how many of us would support a republican candidate who was not Ron Paul? We've been mocked, ridiculed, laughed at, and insulted by the likes McCain and Romney. How many would seriously vote for either one?

I'm betting that the majority of us will stick by Paul regardless of whether he gets the nomination or not. Even those that don't write in Paul, I can't imagine that they would vote for either McCain or Romney.

All that being said, exactly how do they expect to win? Even if we only comprise 5% of the voters, that's more than enough margin for the Democrats to win. Do they expect to butter us up or something? Do they expect that to work? Do they think that we are only differencing from them on minor issues and those can be smoothed over? Are they really that stupid?

It seems to me that the GOP has effectively signed it's own death warrant in this race. If they had at least been respectful, then maybe they could swing some of us to vote for them. Instead their schoolyard tactics in collusion with the party and the media has made it so that I doubt many of us with good conscience could ever vote for them.

Then again, if Paul wins this won't be a problem. :)

~X~

Someone needs to convince Hucks army to jump the GOP ship with us in the general election, they are starting to understand our pain, except their supporters arn't painted as kooks like we are.

I don't think the republicans want to lose... I just don't think they want to win and with someone who'd actually shrink government and destory the possible influence a strong government gives.

The media on the other hand... are against us.

The media sucks. The Ron Paul Revolution is alive. McCain is a pro-war neo-con
jerk and he wants to keep the troops over in Iraq forever it seems. RP will free
the troops and bring them back to their homes.
