Call FOX and record their statement. So we have
ANYTHING that confirms the presidential Forum
being aired by them.

We need facts.

If you intend to record, I believe federal law requires that you inform whoever you talk to that the call may be recorded.

Though I don't imagine you'll get into any trouble.

(I'm not trying to be mean, I'm trying to save you some time) But, you're headed down a long road of frustration.

We have the facts. Instead, tell them you are displeased because they didn't invite RP.

If someone has the equipment to record and post the mp3,
they should ask the FOX employee AFTERWARDS [after
the confirmation] if it's okay to publish the call.

I am not a lawyer and this is not advice but the last time I checked you only need one person to say the recording is ok. You being one of the people can say ok to the recording and record it. That is the fed law and applies to calling across statelines. However if you are instate calling you might want to check your state laws.

Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968, 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2510 et seq.

Consent: In the absence of more restrictive state law, it is permissible to intercept and record a telephone conversation if one or both of the parties to the call consents. Consent means authorization by only one participant in the call; single-party consent is provided for by specific statutory exemption under federal law. 18 U.S.C. Sec. 2511(2)(d).

No. You're dishonest here. We don't have hard
facts from FOX confirming the story. That's the
crux in the whole fuss.

*BUMP* for .mp3 evidence.

Anyone having the equipment to record the conversation
and post it on the "internets"?

I just called and recorded the recording message I get from calling that number. Want me to post that?

I did press 2 and got a number for requests for transcripts of shows. I'll call that from 5-9 M-F to ask for one of the 1/6 forum, and ask if there's going to be one. That number is 188844foxtv

Fed Law does not prevent recording of phone calls. Some states require both parties be aware of the recording, some states just require at least one party be aware.

I would use the most restrictive state, either the one you are calling, or the one you are calling from as the standard. Better safe then sorry.

If it's legal in your state ... Hell YEAH! :p
