    PMs still a good investment?

Investmentwise, they are still decent. Although, they are more fairly priced than they were 2 years ago. At this point, you're mostly getting protection rather than profit. That being said, if you haven't got any, stop trying to time the market already. There were several people on this site...

    What's up with Gold?

So you want to refer to a temporary price spike to justify your thesis? Don't get lost in the volatility. Using your logic, you can conclude that the price of sugar has been going down for 40 years. Oil was $10 a barrel in 1998. At the peak of the housing bubble, it was somewhere around $70...

    Anyone still read Mish?

Since it's always good to look back in hindsight, I recall several people on this forum were so into Mike Shedlock, especially after his "Peter Schiff was wrong" article. Since that exact time point, Shedlock has completely failed in his ability to deliver any sort of return for his clients and...

    What's up with Gold?

Another bump for hindsight. I find it hilarious people were calling a move down from $990 to $950 a correction. A month after the so called "correction", we never saw these prices again. Gold waived bye bye and never looked back in a matter of weeks.

    is the gold correction over?

Another year, another $200 up. I'll bump this thread every year. I especially love the "take profit" posts.

dunno what happened to his blog, but he's been busy losing money investing in bonds for about a year and a half.

Nutrition Facts in a free market?

Not for nothing, but you can't get much in terms of nutritional labeling. Furthermore, the marketplace does perform the nutritional labeling. Like I said, the government provided a blank box for the marketplace to fill in. Anyone that considers a white box that market participants fill in to...

Nutrition Facts in a free market?

No, your posts in this thread were one of the few bright spots. I'm referring to the kids who swear to god that the government is invading their rights because of government mandated nutritional labeling. It's a primary example of why no one takes the libertarian movement seriously. It's...

rofl, you just proved you don't listen. I didn't say it required allergy information. I am required to list the ingredients.

Nutrition Facts in a free market?

OMFG, do you listen? If you buy a pack of Nabisco crackers, Nabisco put that nutritional information on their box. NOT THE GOVERNMENT! The only thing the government did was provide them with a blank box for Nabisco to fill in. And if you read my post, I clearly explained that Nutritional...

Nutrition Facts in a free market?

It's not needed. It's beneficial. It promotes transparency, and the dissemination of information. It allows producers to market and improve their products. It allows consumers to make decisions on their own based on by being more informed. It also allows consumers to avoid illness by...

Nutrition Facts in a free market?

I'm a chemist. That would never happen. You can do testing to determine how much protein, fat, & carbs are in a given food product. Beyond that, figuring out each and every ingredient and relative composition (percent composition) would be extremely grueling and in most cases, impossible. It...

Nutrition Facts in a free market?

You are way off topic. The topic is nutritional labeling and informing the consumer of what they are consuming. This topic has nothing to do with the FDA approving products for consumption. You fail to understand that transparency and the dissemination of information is a key factor in a...
