How important is the "getting Ron Paul's name put into nomination" thing? Delegates can still vote for Ron Paul even if his name isn't put into nomination, can't they?

Are Ron Paul delegates for real? Looking back to 2008, a good percentage of "Ron Paul delegates" voted for McCain, so I can't help being skeptical.

Anyone know if Ron Paul is a registered write-in in Michigan? I seriously doubt it, but I wanted to be sure. I'm curious to know if my vote will be counted when I write him in.
