The official campaign was demanding the money now, not wanting to wait around until the money bomb date. So I can see why they moved it up.

Name recognition is still a big issue though, and big advertising guestures like blimps can help change that. It creates buzz.

A "conservative" version of Digg has cropped up and it looks like they get some decent traffic, if not really huge. They are all Republican probably. Most of the campaign stories are about John McCain (haha) and Fred Thompson, with a few (many negative) stories about Ron Paul...

Exactly. Colbert would have embarrassed the hell out of them and probably even won a couple of delegates to the Dem convention. Then of course, the joke probably would have been to send a few young people as those delegates to vote for Stalin or Vladimir Putin or something crazy.

How is this data figured out? Does the Paul campaign give outsiders access to the raw donation data?
