[I]
I think it's a reality check. No matter who wins the race... we're going to end up with hypocrites in office that change their views when the time suits them. Yeah... sounds about right.
When McCain loses the election, it'll attributed to that guy CNN is anointing even as I type.
That said, Barr's previous positions on certain issues are little too much to tolerate. I don't see how anyone could even cast a protest vote for him.
By what objective standard is he a libertarian at all??? Much less more of a libertarian than Ron Paul?
I'm not for a lot of things either, but I think others have a right to do whatever they want. As far as I know, this is Ron Paul's position on an overwhelming majority of issues.
It's not...
I wouldn't say Hillary and Obama warmongers, but they're certainly interventionists. They like the "less carrots, more sticks" approach John Bolton drunkenly screams about on Sunday talk shows.
there's something we can all agree on! ;)
I too want to see him run as an independent/3rd party. Indeed, it's all about the message at this point. If even a few more supporters could be gained, it would be worthwhile. Hopefully after the convention he'll change his mind.
I put some blame on Bush, but also incorrect/fabricated intelligence. And some on myself for being coaxed into accepting the policy of nation building. Anyone who supported the war effort shares a bit of blame. But it's mostly the people who got it wrong up top! ;)
