  • If I posted my interview with the IBJ, would you give me your thoughts on it? Yes or no?
When you become the best, the bitter and envious come out of the woodwork. They come out because they can't do what I can do. What I takes brains and determination. It takes being a consummate motivator.

The Indiana Business Journal interviewed me recently on my management philosophy. I would be happy to post that for you because I think it will inspire you.:) Will you give me your thoughts on it?
Have you ever been the best in the country at something?

I can tell you...it feels good man. You can do it! Believe in yourself!
I deal with envy all the time. There are thousands of people who want to be where I am:

Have you ever been so good at something that you are recognized as being one of the best in the country at it?
You aren't talking to an average person. You are talking to one of the best hotel managers in the country.

Why not try to learn from me instead of being bitter and envious?
You can't fib and be successful. The two top qualities of someone who brags are jealousy and insecurity. When those cease, the bragging ceases.
You can be a professional like me. You must not be jealous or envious though. The first step to being a successful professional is to be happy about other's success. Once you are happy about other people's success, you open yourself to being successful as well.

You can reach my level of success! You have to believe in yourself!
How is it inaccurate when you said it? You said your employees must do "exactly" what you say or you "will fire them." You said you do "large business deals." You said the only time you visit your workplace is to do things like fire people.

You said you work from home. I pointed out a motel manager does not work from home.

Do you know how I know these things? Because I both managed people and also stayed at hundreds of hotels/motels. My wife and I even briefly considered buying a motel or bed and breakfast. I know what they cost and the management that goes into them.

Now, log off this forum and get your ass in gear. I'm sure most of your customers are checked in, so maybe you could tidy up the lobby.
None of that is accurate. But I do know what is accurate:

    You got Owned.

    Deal with it son.
I know what managers do. I was a manager in 3 jobs for 10 years. I also traveled sales 8 years, staying at countless hotels & motels.

1st off, your "hotel" is actually a motel. 2nd, your prior motel manager job description isn't even accurate. A motel isn't managed from home, as you claim. Managers of motel chains also don't make "large business deals," unless you count taking a phone reservation for a tour group.

You also don't tell your employees to do "exactly" what you say or you "will fire them." This means that you're not fit for management, or you're embellishing your importance.

I'm guessing this is could be some type of franchise, where the owner is there days & sometimes absentee. Maybe similar. You cover nights, doing paperwork and supervising the front desk. He handed you the company keys, you got the photo-op, & so you embellished your resume. You being continually logged in on the job & posting tells me that you do less management & more boredom relief.
"but you tell tall tales about a job you don't even do? "

    HAHAHA...you are hilarious kid.

    You got owned.

    Deal with it.
"Whatever you say, front desk guy in charge at night over housekeeping and janitorial. Whatever you say."

I feel sorry for you kid. You can get to my level and be a national award-winning professional one day. You have to believe in yourself and work hard every day. My your work your life.

    You can do it!
So you PM me that I'm narcissistic for posting a boxing thread, but you tell tall tales about a job you don't even do? Make sure you pick up both a box of originality and jar of self-esteem next time.
Guess you know what they say about awards and assholes, right? Everybody has one.

Don't get sunstroke in the 110 degree Las Vegas shade.
