You're deliberately not getting it. It's not the artwork that made you post it, it's the pushy evangelistic message put on top of it.

I'll solve my problem with you by putting you on ignore and that will be the end of it since you are unmistakably unwilling to respect any boundaries to the pouring forth of religious spew into places it is not wanted.

RPF has a function to ignore the Religion forum. I use it, and that works well.

Unfortunately, it seems a common trait of followers of certain branches of Christianity that they simply cannot mentally process the idea of respecting others and exerting self-control when it comes to pushing their dogma in other people's faces. They are simply unable to stop themselves, as if they are afflicted by a form of Tourette's. The behavior is actually identical to that of homosexuals, they simply can't keep their bad habits to themselves, they have an insatiable need to have others approve of their lifestyles. I find the injection of homosexuality into situations it has not been invited both rude and inappropriate in exactly the same way as I find the injection of religious dogma.

Exercise some self control and respect for others, please. Imposing a requirement on others that every last one of these rude interjections be individually hidden is not even close to reasonable.

Posting a picture on the funny pictures thread that requires a specific religious belief to get it is evangelism. At a certain point (a point long in the past) it should have been made clear to you that this is discourteous and annoying to others. The religion forum exists specifically because that kind of thing is unwanted and unwelcome by a great many participants on this board. Please do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and don't pollute an amusement thread with proselytization.

I don't think I really agree with anyone's posts here on church history. I'd say Hells_Unicorn is probably the closest to my position out of anyone, but even from him I'd have certain disagreements. I kind of have my own unique approach to this. Hells_Unicorn is probably the only person here (other than me) who ACTUALLY believes in sola scriptura, rather than solo scriptura.
