I'm really hoping for Sanford come 2012. I think he's much more electable than Ron Paul. Some of the things that I agree with Ron Paul on but that weren't as essential to me, but that did get in the way of a lot of the people I talked to, Sanford has an "acceptable" view on (drugs, gay marriage...
I'm a Christian. I'm also an ardent Ron Paul supporter. If you came at me with this stuff I wouldn't be the least bit impressed.
You're better off talking about Ron Paul's outstanding character (principled life and voting record, marriage, etc) and dealing with his ideas, than ripping passages...
"Greetings,
I think Ron Paul would be the best candidate for uniting this country. His strong stand on the need for liberty and limited government allows for decisions to be made on a more local or personal level where each community or individual can decide what is best for themselves, as...
Convinced my wife's Texas Aunt to be a supporter.
One thing, though, that I've been having trouble with is getting people to understand the need to support him in the primaries, and not just wait to see what happens after that.
Certainly. But again, the point is they asked this of a young minor who may not have been aware of the consequences of answering.
But anyway, like I said, I'm not trying to get any action other than support for Ron Paul who can help us turn the momentum back toward smaller government.
Perhaps it had short term benefits, but in living by the sword he died by it. It was not merely financial shortcomings that got him, it was the anti-semitic attacks and so forth that the other side was hitting him with..
Yes, I've seen that video, and I understand what you are saying. Emotion is important. In fact, I agree with you that the ads put out by the campaign don't stir up the emotions until you have applied your mind to the wondrous principles of liberty that saturate them.
So, I think they could do...
One of the primary things that makes me like Ron Paul so much is his integrity. I'd think much less of him if he got involved too heavily in the mud-slinging.
I may be an extreme minority on that, but just about all the RP supporters I know personally feel the same way.
I certainly wasn't trying to make the point that the Govt. should intervene in this case. The point is I'm certain at least at the state level, this is something being pushed by the government.
I happen to agree with him, but I think if people agree with his overall philosophy of a federal government restricted by Constitutional limits, then it ought to be a non-issue.
Ron Paul doesn't want to have a federal abortion ban, he wants to leave it up to the states where the issue belongs.
I'm always suspicious of why they want to know and where the information goes.
If they had asked me, I wouldn't have answered, but the point is they asked my young brother who isn't aware of the fact that he can/should not answer.
I agree with what others said. I think we should conduct ourselves with the same principle and integrity of the man we are trying to get people to learn about.
Here's a short thing I wrote on my blog as the result of something my little brother told me:
I know that as a Ron Paul supporter I'm particularly interested in the way our rights are increasingly being taken away, our privacy is being invaded, and the Government is trying to control too much...
