I think the point the OP is making is that while RP supporters are certainly free to do whatever they want to do with their time and their money, not all things they might choose from are profitable in terms of winning real votes for Ron Paul. Personally, I loved the sign wavings the last time...

Thargok, I have no idea who you are, but I love you!!! We do have the manpower to win this thing and the establishment is terrified that RP supporters just might take your advice seriously and kick their tyranical little tails to the curb.

Melissa did a heck of alot more than filling out a piece of paper. She personally recruited hundreds of other Hoosiers to file to be a delegate too. She's one of the unsung heroes of 2008 campaign.
