I do not support Trump. I am considering voting for him strategically in the primaries as I would rather he be the nominee than the other candidates. I will not vote for him in the general election.
I think this is a great analysis of how Ron's positions were appealing to many and where they may have gone in 2016. Also what I think can't be stressed enough is the highly varied coalition he built together in 2008 and 2012. While of course he had the strong support of libertarians and...
Totally agree - this matched my phone banking experience as well. Almost everyone in Iowa was undecided and had a favorable impression of Rand, but you could tell that at best he was their second or third choice. The media just controlled the narrative and stopped anyone from ever seriously...
All in all this was a very unusual election. I don't think we should be comparing it to 2012 or even 2008 for that matter. It's simply not a fair comparison and as evidence for that, the prior two first place finishers finished dead last and second to dead last. It just wasn't our year. Even...
For anyone who's doing the PFH right now, what are you putting for people that aren't going to the caucus/can't make it? I've been putting refused so they get taken off the call list presumably but is that right?
Another interesting tidbit, 86% of Paul supporters in the sample watched the recent debate. Higher than any other candidate, we are clearly the most engaged and aware of the issues of any supporter, although I think anyone reading this forum already knew that.
Wow I don't know if I've ever seen such a huge age drop off:
18-29: 22.7%
30-44: 17.9%
45-64: 0.7%
65+: 1.7%
I hate to see 45 and up so low, but if it's any consolation, we are the future at least.
I posted this yesterday on a thread where someone was saying Rand should reframe how he talks about "cutting military spending" because the language he is using can hurt him with voters. I'm going to re-post here as I think it might be useful for anyone making a speech to hawkish/neocon types.
