Confessions of an active duty police officer

You see it's not that we think all cops are bad. We know precisely that they are normal people. That is why we don't like them, because we know they are just normal people, given power to all too often do whatever the hell they want.

How I learned to love Say's Law

I'll paraphrase Hutt's formation of Say's- the source of demand for any singular economic input or output that is produced, is potentially any/all the of the other economic inputs or outputs produced that don't compete with it. Because one of those goods will be exchanged for the other at some...

    Petition: Rapists' Parental Rights

Is there somewhere I can sign so that it removes one signature from this petition? Seems like one of the silliest things I have seen. We have courts for a reason, if there is any rare situation when there might be a legitimate reason for a rapist to have custody it can be decided in court...

In recent weeks, there has been a crescendo of dark predictions and veiled threats on the part of Israeli military leaders regarding Iran in particular, which rejects peace with Israel. Intelligence assessments here say that Iran will have nuclear weapons by the end of the decade...

    Herbert Hoover & Austerity

Can anyone find a way to torture out how one might come to the conclusion that Herbert Hoover conducted "austerity" during his presidency and in response to the great depression? I see Krugmann continue making this point but I honestly can't find any fact of any kind that even remotely supports...

"I'm not going to die at Arby's tonight. I'm just not."

You have no clue how "they" treated an employee of theirs with 23 years of service. You only know that she broke company policy multiple times, and she was fired. I don't see any reason to particularly like or dislike the way in which she was terminated, nor does the factor of 23 years or 5 days...

"I'm not going to die at Arby's tonight. I'm just not."

Isn't it all kind of irrelevant? Why can't Arby's fire this woman for whatever damn reason they please? She can certainly quit whenever and for whatever reason she wants.

    I solved the Iran problem...

Israel has been saying Iran is months away from a nuclear weapon since 1993. If they wanted one the would have one.

What's Your Opinion on the So-Called "Earnings Gap"?

Women make up 47% of the labor force and only 8% of work related deaths. In the name of this incredibly unjust situation, we need equal deaths for equal work! Everyone write your congressmen to pass the Lily Bloodletter Act now! EQUAL DEATHS FOR EQUAL PAY!! EQUAL DEATHS FOR EQUAL PAY!!

What's Your Opinion on the So-Called "Earnings Gap"?

Yes there is an earnings gap. But it is completely irrelevant and worthless, and anyone making some appeal about inequality using it is is ignorant or engaged in perfidy. Usually the former. There is also an earnings gap between young people and old. No one claims that employers wage...
