FFS now it's a tracking they want. I bet soon law enforcement will tap into this database and you'll be getting tickets in the mail for the smallest infraction.

After The New York Times revealed that General Motors was sharing driving behavior with LexisNexis, customers filed dozens of lawsuits and the carmaker ended its contract with the data broker. But data is still being collected from other automakers and it is still being collected from apps.

This is why autonomous driving will not be forthcoming. They want the revenue from the human driver. Suppose everybody sat in a self driving car. The cops would be complaining that they don't have any traffic stops, DUI, speeding, stop sign violations...
