every place is different but it's typically a local office

planning board and/or zoning board are town / city panels elected or appointed citizens that reviews proposal for developments and makes recommendations

If you guys do run please be very careful. I've heard that the way they are able to come from a global organization and work on the local level is through the local representatives selling everyone out.

I've heard even though they have an agenda planed out they involve people locally in carrying it forward. They make you think your making decisions but the choices your given only drive their goals forward but leave you thinking your in control on the local level.
