After a short interview on XMRadio just now they called back and asked if they could be on the blimp when it goes over Washington D.C. Other reporters have asked for the same. The publicity we're going to generate with this is going to be incredible. Please give now and please send an email out to your friends. We're so close!!!

Maybe you can sell space to them and other outlets? As a platform for them to broadcast from.

Trevor, I'm sorry I ever doubted you.

Also sell some ad space on the blimp if you have too. An XM Radio logo near the tail wouldn't hurt anything.

Usually it is very rare to sell access or advertising to media. The norm is to establish an acess partnership.

eg. You advertise them and give them access and they give advertising back.

If you want money sponsors better to go for a national based company, probably services such as an insurance or loans company. They might consider 100k+/month for a fin advert a great deal on such an exciting high exposure venture. This blimp will get 100X normal blimp exposure.

This seems like a no-brainer. If the blimp is supposed to be "for profit" then getting these advertisers should be a done deal. No? More than enough money to keep it flying. Am I missing something?

Certainly worth looking into, but my guess is that most other product advertisers would be reluctant to have a subsidiary ad on a venue whose main ad is a partisan political message. For their own target audience, they will want to maintain appearance of not favoring a particular candidate. For media companies there might even be legal considerations.

But media might like it to broadcast from or take images from...(as long as they are not transmitting images or cartoons over wireless access :D ).

See if Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. wants to put an ad on the blimp.

Yes, having XM on there would show some people that we aren't as small as most media makes us out to be. That would be a great add on!

Open it up to Free Bidding!!!! Call Sirius Radio and see what their offer...

would be? Maybe Sirius could offer a package deal with HOWARD STERN and his show?

It time to get ALL the Marketing and SALES Supporters on this for the BEST bid for the BLIMP, it's flight path, and the RON PAUL for President Campaign.

PLEASE, No Bids From the Usual Suspects: Aerospace, Oil, Pharma, etc... or OUTSOURCING

I'm against the idea of adding advertising to the blimp.

I want to say, without a doubt, that the Ron Paul blimp and it's message is brought to you by WE THE PEOPLE. Having a company logo on one of the blimp fins would be tacky and I think it's the kind of thing that should be reserved for NASCAR and the like.

As a matter of how long the blimp can stay up, I think that donations could very well double once people see it flying.

Power to the people!

I agree. If it comes down to not raising enough money and having to either sell corporate ads or scrap the whole idea, then of course you go ahead and grab the sponsor. But I think we should exhaust our resources with the people first.

Damn. We have got to get this thing in the air. I'll pitch in a few hundred, what the hell. I just got an unexpected raise at work, so I'm putting the raise into Ron until after the election. Every penny. I can max out on Dec 16th and still donate to this as well.

I'll admit I was a bit skeptical that anyone would notice a blimp or care. Goes to show you what I know. :p

Give em hell Trevor. And PLAN on what you'll need to do for us in two years' time. We'll be needing you again then as well.
