The results for West Virginia are in and while better than I'd dared hope, still reveal a disturbing level of stupidity and statist parasitism.

First of all, the sweep was all Republican. I voted Libertarian mainly because the Republicans are generally the opposite side of the retarded Democrats. However, I will retain a shred of hope that even this marginal change may see some improvement. I knew Capito was likely to win, but cast for Buckley anyway. He got some 1.6%, which tells you a lot about WV voters and confirms my belief that the average man has no business in a voting booth.

Far more disturbing, however, were the county by county results for the various new tax levies. The only county results that were "right" were those of Roane, which is our county: every tax proposal was defeated... and hunting on Sunday approved :) .

Finally... thank God... that rotten to the core, good for nothing liberal wretch Nick Rahal had the boot introduced to his buttocks. That crypto-socialist bastard is out and I hope he's burning with anger and frustration over it. After the way in which he responded to my urge not to support a gun-control measure, all I wanted was 30 seconds in a locked and windowless room. He represents to me all that is wrong in American politics and while I hold no childish illusions of a great renaissance, I take some small solace in knowing that this cancerous tumor on the body of America has been excised.

Of course, in Kanawha county (capitol) where the greatest concentration of the state's parasites reside, the library levy passed by an embarrassingly broad margin of 32% (66 for, 34 against). Luckily for me, though my property straddles the Kanawha county line, I pay taxes in Roane where people seem to have a little better sense.

It will be interesting to see how Alex Mooney works out. He sounds reasonably good, but in practice... well, time will reveal the truth.

I expect more of the SOS, but hope to be proven wrong.
