I just had to share this... it isn't a very common but on occasion I'll hear someone point out Ron Paul's position on the gold standard (which is often simplified anyway) and point out that he has invested in gold...

Is it just me who doesn't get their point? It's like complaining about a former soldier who's pro-war, or gay, gay rights activist. Why wouldn't he invest in gold if he thinks that's the way to go?
Do they think he's trying to set up our currency to benefit him? He invests in gold because he believes in hard currency, not the other way around.
