corporate reform
Corporations are too powerful. The corporation was formed to originally to allow a very specific project such as an expensive bridge to be built for the public good. Then lawyers managed to get corporations "personhood" and all the rights of a person. But corporations are not like you and me, they behave almost exactly as serial killers do in that they have no conscience and are required by law to pursue profit above all else. This has created a monster that is now swallowing up earth and killing all life. These are not overstatements. The path to freedom will require us to reduce the power and size of corporations through government regulation and overall reform of the corporate form.
I propose:
• the People revoke the charters of those corporations shown to have repeatedly disregarded public safety and health { Dupont, Monsanto, ADM, Cargill, etc. etc etc come to mind } as well as those with a record of repeated fraud { Halliburton, Bechtel etc etc etc }
• the charters of all corporations should now begin with a statement like " the health and safety of life on earth shall be the foremost concern above profit
• corporations should be prohibited from purchasing other corporations - no more "mergers and acquisitions", no more unknown ownership
• we need real oversight with teeth, unfortunately. Allowing the corporations to run wild and free is not making a better future at all... perhaps limiting liability is not the way?
