Two and two don't add up. Looking at their tracks, financiers and neocon godfathers, candidates like Romney/Mccain should appear more scary.

Republican Convention Rules Changes: How the Establishment Stole the GOP

On August 28 the Republican National Committee (RNC) allowed representatives of the Mitt Romney campaign to seize control of the Republican Party. As The New American has reported, Ron Paul delegates from Maine were improperly denied credentials, robbing Paul of a majority of that state’s delegation. One disgusted Maine delegate described this decision as a “huge slap in the face.”
That slap hit more than just Maine. Maine’s Ron Paul delegates were roughly shoved out of the Republican Party’s quadrennial convention, and as a result of events surrounding the proposal and adoption of new rules to govern the presidential nomination process, every potential Republican presidential candidate with a message that doesn’t parrot the party line has been effectively ostracized. Forever.

Who is the establishment? And why does it matter if a candidate scares them?

Ideas are what matter, not being anti-establishment. This obsession with being out of the mainstream drives me crazy. I don't care if Bill Kristol hates Trump. Donald Trump is a left wing buffoon. I never once thought Ron Paul was appealing because of who didn't like him. When ideas mean nothing, that is how people end up supporting polar opposites like Trump and Ron Paul.

The government fears us! Ron Paul 2016!

Are you seriously saying that?
It is the "elite" kids who come up with designs like below that are often referred to as eslablsihment.

Which ideas of Trump scare you most?

I have at times stood with "left wing buffoons" when they stood against Right wing non-buffoons' buffoonery of Iraqi Freedom, the dumbest bufoonery in US history.
It depends on priorities I guess.

Ron/Rand scare the GOP because they would shrink government and stop servicing the special interests. Trump scares them because they suspect he wouldn't service their special interests (maybe he'd service those of his longtime Dem buddies instead), or that he'd lose (with the same result: the Dem special interests get serviced, instead of theirs).

In other words, Ron/Rand would derail the gravy train; Trump might redistribute the tickets.
