Why are rich movie stars Democrat?

I would think that the people that are rich Hollywood stars wouldn't be democrats. I mean, some of the stars I see are filthy rich and the democrats don't want them to have tax cuts and pay more taxes.

I just don't get it. It doesn't make sense financially for them to not be "greedy" with their money. I suppose they really don't understand how the government works and how they are really going to pay for universal health care.

Ok. rant over.

They feel guilty about being rich. Historically, it's been the lowest and highest "classes" that have most supported socialist policies.

Smugness. People who see themselves as being successful believe that they naturally understand other issues which extend beyond their realm of expertise. Unfortunately, this hurts movie stars the most because, well, playing pretend and looking good while doing it isn't exactly the most intellectually stimulating of activities.

i will no longer pay to see sylvester stallone, chuck norris, nor arnold schwarznegger in a movie or any where else. im also selling all my copies of the Terminator, Rocky, and Rambo.

I vowed never to support Sean Penn or Danny Glover with my money a while ago after they had their visits with Hugo Chavez. Fortunately, I already had a copy of Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Rich movie stars didn't become rich because of their good business sense. They became rich by looking good.

Many stars had jobs as waiters and such before they hit it big. So I guess they remember where they came from. Old money tends to be more greedy than new money it seem to me.

Probably b/c they are pandering to their audience. You have to figure that the typical Angelina Jolie fan is some poor trailer park gal or some barrio girl (baroness?). As an example. Or look at the typical Madonna fan. Girls who would become single moms, divorcees, etc. and liberal policies appeal to these people. The men are probably liberal b/c they figure it will get them more poontang. And then there is the reality of low morals and low character; a lot of these actors and actresses are fairly scummy, and as patriotism used to be called the last refuge of the scoundrel, a bleeding heart liberalism is often the last refuge of today's scoundrels. A way for them to act morally superior to others out of a guilty conscience, etc.

If you want ANY chance at making it big in the movie industry then it's who you know. Major movies are controlled by a limited group of people, so if you go with the flow then you get the roles, and thus the money.

1. They are union people. Ever hear of the Screen Actors Guild? Unions are largely Democratic.

2. They have lots of fans. That gives them a platform to express their opinions, which leads them to believe that their opinions matter. Since their professions require that they look good on camera, they want to be extra careful about expressing opinions that make themselves look like good, honest, caring and compassionate people.

3. The best actors and actresses of them, never seem to make any big deal about their political views.

4. They're very rich and very busy making movies. They don't have much time for mixing it up with the unwashed masses. They think that's the government's job. I actually heard Tony Randall say that once on TV.

5. They only care about the illusion of looking good. They reserve their deepest thinking for acting. Some are very good and others, well - they just suck, but darn it, they look good.

6. They are the court jesters of our day. They think they can get the conscience of the king. what they don't know is that they are the mouthpiece for the king.

I don't know what else to add. Just do your own thinking.

The simplest answer is, to make a gross generalization, that actors are more likely to be people who feel or intuit more than exhaust logic to come to a conclusion. After all, it's part of their job to do just that. Democrats tend to answer a lot of questions about how they think the world "should be" in terms of "fairness" etc. and often fail to consider actions beyond their intentions.

Thank you all for your answers. A lot of this seems very obvious, but for some reason (after a long day of work and watching the enemy on TV) I just couldn't put them together. Total brain dump after a long day of work.

Thanks again all. It basically boils down to BS artists follow other BS artists who want things "fair" and no visible strings attached. Just like Unions!

thank goodness there's actually a few conservative (and even Libertarian) actors.

to name a few:

Drew Carey
Tom Selleck
Kurt Russel (who got into trouble for hosting a gun sporting event teaching people on the proper use of guns and handling them safely).
Clint Eastwood

David Letterman voted for Ron Paul back in 1988...why not now?

It'd be nice if all 5 came out and endorse Ron--it'd give us a huge boost (especially the Letterman and Eastwood Endorsements).

I suspect Clint thinks the government is HIGHLY corrupt too....have you ever seen his movie "Absolute Power"?

because they learn a good amount about life making movies, and realize its more about helping people, which democrats do more. On average of course, depends what you consider republican, couse if its ron paul then they should vote for him, but on average dems i think are more humanitarian thinking. Like for example most reps are racially charged and use fear etc, which is pretty ignorant.

It is simple.

they are insulated from the real world. they make alot of money, so the socialistic aspects affect them not. They can be charitable and they can have big ideas because they can afford it. They are unaffected as taxes are raised. They have no cares so they can be compassionate WITH YOUR MONEY!

simple.
