All of the candidates (all 95 declared Republicans so far) are listed here:

I propose a very simple and objective system for the various tiers:

Top Tier = raised millions of dollars, polling in double digits nationally:

Mitt Romney
Rick Perry
Ron Paul
Michelle Bachmann

Middle Tier = raised millions of dollars, polling in single digits nationally:

Newt Gingrich
Jon Huntsman
Herm Cain

Bottom Tier = less than one million raised, very little support:

Rick Santorum (former Pennsylvania Senator)
Gary Johnson (former New Mexico Governor)
Fred Karger (raised $266K)
Thaddeus McCotter (Michigan Congressman)
Roy Moore (former Alabama Chief Justice)
Buddy Roemer (former Louisiana Governor)
Allen West (Florida Congressman) [note -- draft candidate]
L. John Davis, Jr (raised $136K)

Novelty Candidates = no state or national political exposure, very little cash:

80 other guys you've never heard of.

I agree with this. Something tells me either Romney or Perry is going to fall flat at some point before winter. I got that funny feeling, but I could be wrong. I would rather have Paul in a two person top tier race or in a race with many candidates.

Even if we win the GOP nomination, I think we have a three way race for the general:

Jedi Candidates

Brian J. Moran of Texas
• FEC P80003577
• Declaration of Intent of Candidacy: Tuesday 26 July 2011

:P

It's Romney vs. whomever can keep their numbers inching up as he begins to implode. Perry is going to flop, and I think Bachmann will stumble as well. I would say it's Mittens to lose and Paul is the only one with staying power that might catch him.

Paul will get it if he can go the distance

Bachmann is in danger of falling into the middle tier, polling around 9 or 10 percent nationally.
