PS I realize I misspelled the title

it wont ever be anybody with the initials R.P.:

Ross Perot
Ron Paul
Rand Paul

The argument could be made that Paul was already pumped way back when he was 'the most interesting man in politics' and everyone was talking about his libertarian-conservative coalition he was going to pull together.

The probability is higher that someone will say something more stupid than usual and end up dropping. Fiorina, Christie or Carson.

I'd really like to see Rand get a bump, but knowing how they treat him as if he were the 13th floor in a hotel, the 2 who will be pumped up will be Cruz and Rubio.

The normal MSM plan is to pump only one candidate, who they can cover in contrast to the establishment front runner, in order to pretend they are following the race (that illusion in turn gives them cover to ignore the rest of the field, especially Paul). The media does not actually like to pump different candidates in succession, as it draws too much attention away from the chosen one. The 2012 race gave them problems, because the weak field forced them to be serial pumpers, as none of the people they pushed were strong enough to stay up in the polls after being pumped.

In the 2016 primaries the media has a relatively stable situation on the Democratic side with Sanders, but Trump and Carson (neither of whom are the preferred establishment favorites) on the GOP side have so far obliterated their attempts to coronate Jeb. Carson was not pumped at all, his rise seems to be all organic. The Fiorina surge was a trial attempt to coronate somebody else they could accept, but she could not maintain good polling numbers even a month.

I'm really looking forward to when Donald Trump gets the attention he deserves. It seems like everybody gets pumped/surged except him.

You'll see another attempt to push Rubio on the morons, I think. The GOP establishment wants Bush, but Rubio is an acceptable alternative that they think they can convince the "conservatives" in the party to support.

Despite his wife's connections, Cruz isn't that popular with the GOP establishment and they'll only go there if they absolutely have to do so, so I don't think it's quite time for that yet. If Trumpmania continues, they'll eventually get there, but I think the next debate might be a bit too soon for them to press that panic button.

They will never, ever portray Paul as the winner of anything. He could literally make the other candidates wet their pants on stage or be leading by twenty points in the polls and they'd never report it. People must understand that these SOBs consider him an enemy.

There won't be many to pump because there isn't a new face entering and there are 4 times less debates this go around for someone to slip up in the limelight like a Perry.

This is why Biden is holding out for the right time to jump in. Once you are in, everyone else's gloves come off after a month then you fall except for DT in a 15 person race which is just too many. He has a solid 25% and that's it.

Like Walker, Rubio already saw a surge and now is back down in the upper single digits. I remember seeing him high up in Iowa and NH polls before DT jumped in. Maybe someone can look up some old poll numbers back in spring and summer. National polls mean squat. Iowa and NH and maybe SC is what sets the tone of this race eventually.

Someone is more likely to put their foot in their mouth than the media being able to pump an old face. A new truthful story cough cough scandal could also doom a candidate.
