Who was the disturbed individual who started this facebook page?

There's a lot of hipsterish people in the liberty movement. Note that I did not say all are that way. But there are some that want to feel superior by being "more liberty" and measuring their e-peens. Being an oppressed minority is cool. If you disagree with tactics they'll call you a statist, collectivist, or neocon.

Rand Paul is far from infallible. You know I don't mind people criticizing Rand in a rational manner with facts, but this page veers off into a really nasty place not tied to reality.

BTW The person who owns this page is most likely an Adam Kokesh fan if I had to guess. It's the same type of verbiage with the pictures and comments. Not that there is anything wrong with Adam who has a unique view of things, but he tends to attract these type of loose cannons.

Yes indeed, "lifestyle libertarians." Rothbard was complaining about them 30 years ago, and they're still haunting us today.

BTW, what are "e-peen" (guess I''m insufficiently hip to understand...).

It's like saying "the sky is blue". Uh, yeah. We get it. The sky is blue and Rand is not an anarchist.

The question is: Can a person who believes in freedom find a common thread with Rand? And the answer is yes. Rand is a distant ally, but still an ally to all of us who believe in freedom.

I agree. Rand is bridge. I also think he has a good poker face and he's holding a solid liberty hand. His pandering is a bluff for votes. He's more on our side than theirs that's for sure; he's playing the salesman while averting the accusations of flip flop; spoon feeding liberty to the statists.

The owner of the page is Verace Victor LaBoissionnere. He owns/runs Shit Statists Say, LGBT For Gun Rights (with Marcel Fontaine), and Libertarian Gaming, among other facebook pages.

"Libertarian Gaming"? So he's one of those basement gaming nerds?

Thanks. I really wonder why he thinks Rand is a neocon when the neocons despise him? If Rand was suddenly appearing at AEI and Project for the New American Century events, then maybe I would agree with him. Is he really distracted by the glimmering spectacle which is the primary cycle?

No need to attack the guy without knowing him. I'm just shocked how much energy he put into this anti-Rand page when Rand ain't the problem. Now I don't think Rand is the savior but..

I agree that there should be a full spectrum of ideas out there. No question about that. That is good. But some of this sentiment comes from views that are not even close to advocating for freedom.

His page isn't bad if you scroll through some of the non-Rand Paul stuff. He makes some cogent arguments about the state of the world. Though some of it borders on 'rebelling for the sake of rebelling.' I personally take exception to his contention that Rand is some sort of bad guy.

If it makes you feel any better, I just basically labeled him a "retard".

Eh. I see him as misguided but I guess 'retard' could communicate our displeasure with his page. heh.

I didn't attack - I simply observed that based on his assertion that Rand Paul is a neocon that he must be a retard or is corrupt. Seems a fair inference to draw from such an idiotic statement.

Why mince words?

Any self-ascribed libertarian attacking Rand that viciously must either be retarded or not really a libertarian.

AuH2O, ya might want to consider breaking that link. No sense in giving it any free promotion and higher Google returns.
