Thinking about a project to purge Congress of the worst abusers of our rights.

1) Identify who the worst of the worst are - please submit names. I would think people like the sponsors and authors of the Patriot act, Military Commissions act, FISA bill, etc. Should all make the list. Ideally, anyone that has a 100% voting record for these laws would make it, but there are too many of them - so lets list the worst.

2) Do a Money bomb to raise ad money

3) Get graphic artists to come up with ads detailing their voting record to be placed in Newspapers in their districts right before their election.

4) Place the ads.

It would be important that someone that is not worse be running against them. Ideally one of our candidates, but really ANYONE has a better chance of not selling out our rights.

So who is the worst?

Don't know if it's worth doing or not. The local meetups know who the enemy is. Is this about importing people to run at these seats? Is this about divvying national CFL funds to those races we most want to win?

We do not have candidates in half the states. The idea here is to raise money nationally to try and oust the absolute worst members of Congress. The ones that have spearheaded the robbing of our civil rights.

I think it would work best as a website, as resource for the grassroots, instead of actually placing the ad.

Money bombs are very difficult to pull of, but websites are pretty cheap.

Waste of time. Stop paying taxes, move to New Hampshire, and buy something that can stop a column of tanks.

As to laws passed - which ones should be the criteria? I know there are more that would be a good measuring stick.

any more names to suggest?

Well, it's definately worth exposing them, however how efficiently can it really be executed with such a large number of abusers to choose from, and an uncertain amount of funds to do it with.

Maybe we could do more local funding or something, possibly more of a focussed bang for our buck?

I don't really know, just my 2 cents.

That Paul guy, who votes no on everything... he's a crazy SOAB... set the Republican fundraising record for one day... 4+ million....

Seriously though, everyone but Paul should be on that list.
