Marc says Looking at the dynamics of the oil market, I think that investing in oil is desirable. Which oil funds should one invest in?

Euro Pacific's latest energy newsletter might help you decide. Legally they can't say the names of the companies in the letter because FINRA is worse than the TSA, but if you call and say you're a Peter Schiff fan who's too young or poor to open an account with them, one of their brokers will tell you what they're buying. I've done this with their gold miner newsletters (it was Lihir, before Newcrest bought them out.)

hands down - xom

Slightly more speculative - BP (dividends are currently suspended. once reinstated, expect greater gains. Also, the price has been a steal since april)

if investing in your IRA account I would look at canadian oil/gas plays. PVX, PGH, PWE, ERF and BTE. As for US/International I would look at COP, CVX, DVN

XOM, with price and dividend appreciation for decades is generally seen has a bedrock investment

Natural Gas oriented companies like Chesapeake, or the pipeline LLCs (ETP, KMP) are also good IMHO.. Great dividends..
